How much does everyone remember about the old system?
Once my turn in the Werewolf hosting rotation comes around, I'm going to be hosting Boingwolf. For that, I want to see what I'm forgetting about the old shop system (which the game will be based on).
For groups, we had The Mod Squad (TMS), Shaft, Forte's Freedom Fighters (FFF), and GIR and Cannon. Insanity was the group I couldn't remember the name of. Also, did FFF actually do anything? Items Golden Coltzan's Statue: Generated items. If it generated a Magical Tomato (could it generate Magical Tomatoes?), Allegiance to Finalhit, or Mob Boss, it would explode afterwards. Allegiance to Finalhit: Gave uber protection from stealing (I can't recall what it actually did, though) Flour Shrine (can't recall the exact name): Generated both varieties of Flours. (Were they just Title and Sig Flours, or did they have other names?) Mob Boss: Generated Goons and Pant Devil. (No Sticky Hands?) Gormballs: Could be passed around for boings, would explode occasionally. The user could choose between 2 and 5(?) seconds to hold it for, increasing both risk and reward. Pointy Dart: If thrown at a user holding a Gormball, the Gormball would explode. Cauldron (Cooking Cauldron? Cooking Pot?): Could mix items. (What was the junk item it usually generated?) Pink Scorchstone: Dealt damage to anyone trying to peep into the owner's inventory. (Had a small chance of destroying the ECA?) Everlasting Crystal Apple (or was it Organic?): Allowed you to view other's inventories. (Red) Sticky Hand: Allowed you to steal boings from others (transferring the Sticky Hand to them, unless it ran out of sticky). (Yellow) Pocket Sticky Hand: A weaker Sticky Hand. (Green) Lime Sticky Hand: (I can't recall how effective this one was.) Rotten Tomatoes: Could be thrown at other users, and each hit racked up a tally. After the first throw they became two(?) Smooshed Tomatoes that had the same use, but would disappear once used. Title Flour: Allowed you to change someone's Title. (Did it have another name?) Sig Flour: Allowed you to change someone's Signature. (Did it have another name?) Magical Tomato: Allowed the user to create their own forum. Cup of Water: Washed away the Scent of Blinblue and Skunk Perfume. (Did nothing on initial release?) Boing Dice: Gave or took up to 150(?) boings. Money Tree (and Money Tree [Free]): Gave 50(?) boings to someone in negs, but can't bring a person higher than -50. At some point they were modified so that only one could be used each day. Pant Devil: Steals boings. Goons: Steals boings. Scent of Blinblue: Makes your Sticky Hands more likely to fail, makes others' less likely to succeed against you. Skunk Perfume: Makes your Sticky Hands more likely to fail, makes others' less likely to succeed against you. Theft Insurance: Offered protection against Pant Devil and Mob Squad. Hire Vira: Offered stronger protection against Pant Devil and Mob Squad. Nova: Put up to 1000 boings into it, shine it each day, and get more boings out than you put in. (Was it 10% gain for regular Nova? And weren't there maybe two others?) Stinkbomb: (Cauldron-only, a fusion of Gormall and Skunk Perfume(?). I don't recall how much damage it did. I think it was after my time.) Flood Defense: Allowed the user to bypass flood control? Discount Medallion: Gave a 10% discount on all items (and allowed access to a VIP Shop?). Boing Bag Ice (Invisible?) Scorchstone: Let you know who Sticky Handed you. Transfusion: Transfers one Tomato Hit from someone else to yourself. Switcher(?): Switches your Boing count with the person with the closest Boing count to yours(?). Anti-Boing Spray: Made you immune to all things boing for one(?) week. I remember very little of the Pet items. There was both Food and Comfort, and I know there were eight school items (one of which was a Globe, and several of which were books...). Oh, and there was some item that allowed you to transfer Pets. Lime Juice Comb(?) Turkey Pinky and the Brain was Finalhit-only. Sharkles generated boings. Klawz generated Pant Devils(?). Wobbles generated Boing Dice. Chirrbles generated Rotten Tomatoes(?). Krabz generated Gormballs. Chirp generated ???. Scratch generated ???. Kemewek generated ???. Hampton generated ???. Heehaw generated ???. Does anyone remember anything to help me out? (Feel free to reminisce, too, if you want.) It should be noted that this post has been edited to include what others have mentioned. I'll try to organize it later, or something. RE: How much does everyone remember about the old system?
I believe that Mob Boss would generate Pant Devil, which can steal boings but doesn't go to the victim's inventory.
Red Stickyhand is the normal one, yellow is the pocket one and the green one is Lime, which can only be obtained through mixing in Cauldron. I don't quite remember about the effect of pocket and lime but I guess it is "melt easier" and have a higher chance to steal boings? Oh and Glittery Scorchstone CAN destroy an crystal apple, though it rarely does. The Allegiance to Finalhit also gives discount I remember and of course, other cool effects that no other items can do. For Gormball, I remember you can choose to hold it for 1 to 5 seconds before passing, of course, holding it longer makes it explodes sooner. If I remember correctly, rotten tomato turns into squished tomato after being thrown once. And how can you forget the Scent of blinblue and the skunk perfume? They protect members against sticky hands but also have a higher chance to melt sticky hands used by the owner. Cup of water can completely negate the effects. That's all I can remember for now. I would post more if I can remember more. JAJAJA ADS BELOW, CLICK IF INTERESTED (or bored): |

RE: How much does everyone remember about the old system?
Pocket Sticky Hand stole less than regular Sticky Hands, I think. I don't remember how their success rates compared. No clue how Lime did.
I don't remember Glittery Scorchstones destroying ECAs at all. AtT gave a discount? I only half remember that, but that does remind me that I'm forgetting the normal discount item. It was gold, or maybe brown, and round, and Smuggler's Cove related... Cup of Water did do something! (I'd entirely forgotten about Scent of Blinblue.) Oooh, AtT Shop that I never saw back in the day. Were Everlasting Mouthwash and Everlasting Onion both infinite-use Comfort/Food items? And wasn't there also a set of weapons in the normal Pet Shop? Can't believe I forgot about Novas. Weren't there one or two other kinds, too? ::.Strains his memory to remember the Chirp, and edits his first post to include everything.:: Watch my Let's Plays: http://www.youtube.com/shatteredrift "If the Spectres have resurfaced, this is no longer a game between us and the Phoenixes. Thanks, Xelo. ::.Edits the main post in this thread.::
I've got about 95% of the material I need for Boingwolf. I just need someone to remind me what the exact purpose of the Insanity group was. Was it just a random thoughts-style thread? I'll also need to talk to Forte about FFF at some point. Shattered Rift Wrote:Thanks, Xelo. ::.Edits the main post in this thread.:: Good old insanity. Instead of insanity you could always use the current version, the conspiracy forum. Where me and garfield pretty much do.... nothing. And the insanity forum was really just random role playing and fooling around. I recall just saying random stuff like, "FOOD FIGHT," which would be followed by random posts of food flinging. It had very little point.

RE: How much does everyone remember about the old system?
Insanity wasn't a boing group. You expect Starry and Inu to share boing/help with protection?
![]() I don't think the Anti-Boing Spray ever existed. I would've remembered that. Or at least, it didn't do what you said it does. There were novas, super novas, dark novas and ultra novas. I don't recall how much each gave though. Rotten Tomatoes only gave one tomato, I think. Scent of Skunk, not Skunk Perfume. |

RE: How much does everyone remember about the old system?
It might have existed... but did it really shut off boing for a user for a whole week? Because that seems way too powerful. Unless it was a really expensive item...

RE: How much does everyone remember about the old system?
Insanity still got tossed into Boing Cliques. Did it even start with Inu and Starry in charge of it?
Anti-Boing Spray definitely existed, and I'm 90% sure that it lasted for a week. It definitely made you unable to gain boings by posting and prevented you from accessing the Shop. (And probably from being attacked so that you didn't get Shop-related PMs clogging your Inbox.) So we had Scent of Blinblue and Scent of Skunk? ::.Frowns.:: That seems wrong...
