Building Weapon Sets
With all the weapons in Neopia, it's hard to choose only 8 to put in your weapon set. This guide will help you create the set, whether you are a beginner, an intermediate and advanced.

Follow this chart. The weapons are only suggestions, there are also other better or equal weapons

Slot #1: Stealing Item (2-P) Shield (1-P)
Why: If somebody uses a stealing item against you in 2-P, they’ll just get another stealing item. Not very useful strategy if they use HRoT
Suggested weapons:
Beginner + Intermediate: Purple sticky hand, it’s cheap and has a great percentage for its price of 2k. Green Sticky Hand is too expensive (100k). Leaf shield blocks 5 water, 5 earth, and 3 physical for 8k. It is EXTREMELY hard to upgrade, but easy to alternate.
Advanced: Heavy Robe of Theivery: The ONLY 100% stealer, sadly, it needs 201 agility and 68 INT. 150k is actually a bargain for this. Unlike Sticky hands, they DON’T go to your opponents after stealing. Ghostkershield or Faerie Tabard. Both fully block 1 icons, and block 4 others. The 7-8 million you spend is worth it.

Slot #2: Dual duty attacker:
Why: Dual duties are very good, attacking and defending.
Suggested weapons:
Beginner: Scarab Ring. EVERY newbie should use this. The attack is hard to block (although fully annihilated by Virtupets X-514 Super Shield) and blocks common physical and fire icons. All this only for 2k!
Intermediate: Golden Compass. It looks cools, reminds you of the novel/movie, and is only 60-80k! Attacks with 9 hard-to-block icons and defends 2.6 dark. I use this and think it’s AWESOME!
Advanced: Hobans Hat. It attacks with 10 icons and defends 5 water. It used to be half the price, but now it’s a bit pricey at 5 million.

Slot #3: Main attacker
Why: Without an attacker, you couldn’t be able to even hit the opponent. The better it is, the more damage you can do to help you win.
Suggested Weapons:
Beginner: Unstable slime. A 7-iconer at 800 NP? One word to describe it: AWESOME! The icon mix is also very good.
Intermediate: Scuzzys Comb. 10 icons at a cheap 180k. Not really recommended for 2-P battlers as the icons are easy to block.
Advanced: Seasonal Attack Pea. I’m not suggesting SuAP because Burrow kills it. 28 icons is awesome, gets through burrow AND sink. The price tag is the downside to this weapon.

Slot #4: Freezer.
Why: The freezer is one of the most important items in a set. It gives you a damage-free shot, so feel free to do your 2 strongest weapons and fierce attack, and if you have it, berzerk.
Beginner: Green Frost cannon or Snowglobe staff. Get the staff if you can afford it.
10-20% freeze at only 7-40k.
Intermediate: Black Frost Cannon. This is the best you can get without going into the millions. Very hard to find, at about 400k.
Advanced: Freezing Potion. Due to deflation, it almost costs LESS than a H4000 helmet (7 million). If you can get extra at the same price, go for it!

Slot #5: Healer
Why: If you can’t heal, there’s a 99% chance of losing. The reason is more obvious than you think.
Beginner: Bronze or Blue Scorchstone. Get the one that is closer to your max HP. Only 1-30k.
Intermediate: 50% healer. Only use this when over 100 HP. Unless your insanely rich, You’ll have to morph into gelert, kacheek, or elephante.
Advanced. Leaded Elemental Vial. If it’s cheaper than Jade SS and does the same thing, why get the scorchstone? This heals you to full, although it costs a superb 26-35 million.

Slot #6: Superb defending item
Why: These weapons are VERY unique, defending or reflecting a large amount.
Beginner + Intermediate: Downsize! Blocks half of everything, only for 2-3k! Once per battle
Advanced: Thyoras Tear. Blocks EVERTHING for one round. It DOESN’T defend stealing, stat/pet changing, disease, or weapons that attack as reflections. It costs a crzy 40 MILLION!

Slot #7: Dual Duty Defender
Why: You need a good defence weapon, but one that attacks better.
Beginner: Golden Geraptiku Talismam. For only 100 NP, you can attack 3 dark and defend 3 dark and 3 earth.
Intermediate: Winged Scarab. For 250k-300k, it FULLY blocks the most common icon, physical. The air attack and defence is a nice bonus.
Advanced: Ring of the Lost. The 9.5 icon attack is quite crummy for its price. The main thing is the FULL DARK DEFENCE! It costs 10 million, but I still highly recommend it.

Slot #8: Anything! Examples: One use items, reflectors, extra defense, bomb, and sticky hand if it’s not in slot #1.
Why: There are so many types of weapons, you can fit all types in 8 slots. Battles do need some variety don’t they?
It’s impossible to suggest weapons here, there’s too many!

I hope this help you with your battles in the future. Remember, they can be in any order you wish. Bye!

RE: Building Weapon Sets
There's been much discussion of freezing item in slot 1, because if you use it round 1, and they try to steal it, it disappears instead of going to them.

The wind has no destination.

RE: Building Weapon Sets
I highly recommend either a freezer for lower etc leagues for slot one (not for leagues where you may late freeze), if not put something useful to you there, but not to your opponent (maybe a Fzap when you don't have a pkiln etc)

Also, in your slot one you have some extraneous text ("Ghostkershield or Faerie Tabard. Both fully block 1 icons, and block 4 others. The 7-8 million you spend is worth it.")

Also, you may want to look into making 4 price categories, because I don't consider hoban's hat and SAP to be in the same league at all Toungue

Also, winged scarab is decent for 2p, but it depends if you're a pteri or not, and how much physical you're facing

RE: Building Weapon Sets
I agree with hockey that you should get another catagory in there. perhaps low and high intermediate? Also a variety of weapons in each would be better not just one.
People who use your guide might also appreciate the use of tags on the weapons as well [*idb] [*/idb] (without the asterisks)

Enforcing all of the laws that haven't been passed yet

RE: Building Weapon Sets
My favorite battledome topic Hug Here's how I see it:

Main Attacker - The strongest constant attack icons that I can get
Second Main Attacker - Something as close to the main attacker as you can afford
Backup weapon - this is the place for dual-duties or specialized weapons (p-kiln/reflectors)
Defense - Downsize or a nice multi-purpose shield
Bomb - only if it's better than your attackers.

and then the accessories:
Freezer
Healer
Stealer

I've always thought that maxing out two constant-icon attack weapons is the most important thing to do when building a set. Ice Club/Stone Club, Wand of Reality/Bow of Destiny, and then SOS/PCC; there's a lot of battling to be done before you would get desperate for a 100% freezer. Those accessories are just icing.

Here's my top row for one player bashing, I want everything on one line and my attackers to the right side so I can click faster. Plus I keep the two main attackers together becuase that will be what I use for most of the battle
Slot #1 Freezer
Slot #2 Attacker 2
Slot #3 Attacker 1
Slot #4 Bomb
Slot #5 Healer

I would only break out the full set for 2-player and stronger 1-player opponents:
Slot #1 Freezer - Always use on the first round so defends against stealing.
Slot #2 Shield/Downsize! - Useful but don't mind if it gets stolen later on
Slot #3 Constant 2 - I like the constants being in adjacent slots because I tend to use them together
Slot #4 Constant 1 - I also want these over the Abilities box to improve my clicking time
Slot #5 Bomb
Slot #6 Healer
Slot #7 Stealer
Slot #8 Backup weapon - I like it here so it's close to my other attackers (underneath them) and will eventually be next to them as I use up my healer, stealer, and bomb. This also tends to be the item I change out the most, so it makes it convenient for it to be on the end.

/a little OCD but that's how I roll.
