Going 1-player

Yep, that's right. I'm leaving the two player battles and only battling one player opponents from now on. But, of course, this means I may have to retool my weapon set a bit, which is why I'm here.

Since part of my battle set has a Steaming Skeem Potion, I'll need to get rid of that and replace it with something else. The question is, what?

Is your goal just to get past each DoN, or do you also want to max out?

Ditch your Patched Magic Hat. It's pretty much worthless to you now. Your Golden Compass will also run a higher risk of being cut down than your Essence of Esophagor. Your goal isn't to diversify anymore, but to start stacking.

Of course, in the current economy, the two One Player options are dual-Ylanas Blasters and dual-Prickly Potion, and the latter is significantly better. Other than those, train.

I posted the same question on the Battledome neoboard, and one person suggested selling my Honey Potion for a second Y-Blaster, and have those go with dual Prickly Potions. If I follow his advice, and combine it with the advice Shattered gave me, this is what I would come out with:

Essence of Esophagor

As you can clearly see, there's still a slot open for something else. I have not done anything definate yet (besides sell my Steaming Skeem potion), and I'm still open to suggestions. I am considering a Downsize, though.

[Shattered Rift]

Pick up a Downsize!. It's useful now that you're back in One Player where opponents can do more icons and your goal is always to survive another turn. I'm going to second the motion of swapping out the Honey Potion (a lot of people seem to like it and enjoy having it, though it's very limited in scope). Ditch the Essence: once you have dual-Y-Blasters and dual-Pricklies there won't be a use for it.

You'll want to have a Purple Sticky Hand in reserve. And you can also consider Snowglobe Staff or Black Frost Cannon for general use while using Scrolls for DoN.

The rest is all about training. I'm assuming you're Labbing?

I was labbing. I recently stopped and used a Striped Shoyru Morphing Potion to double paint Smalldra.

Dual-duty/backup attacker: Golden Compass
Bomb: Honey Potion
Freezer: Scroll of Freezing
Shield: Patched Magic Hat
Healer: Greater Healing Scroll

Add a stealer and it's the "classic" battledome arrangement. Purple Sticky Hand is cheap and will get you some fun items to play with from 1 player opponents.

I've always packed a Downsize!, you'll never outgrow something that blocks a percentage of damage. (Unless you start using reflectors or 100% blockers)
