Set advice
I'll post all my vitals first then say what I want form this.

Species : Lupe
Agility : 24 (GREAT (24))
Attack Strength : 97 (AMAZING (97))
Defence Strength : 103 (LEGENDARY (103))
Current hp: 116 / 101
Level : 55

Constants:
Ylanas Blaster (Just replaced Stone Club)
Golden Compass

Dual duties:
Frozen Wand of Crystals
Iron Lupe Helm

Defense:
Leaf Shield
Greater Healing Scroll

Very rarely if ever use:
Earthen Scorchstone
Snowglobe Staff

I play only 1player and have no interest in 2P.
I do not lab and don't want to, though if I get boochi'd then I would consider it.
I am currently training up to the 125 boost in all stats
I train using codestones and KQuests, usually one or two training sessions per day and however many KQuests I can be bothered with.

---

I was aiming on getting BoD or WoR for a long time but since the blaster came out I made do with that. I had told myself once I got a 13 icon weapon I would train up before upgrading my set any more to make the most of it.

What is the next upgrade I could make? What should I swap in and out once I get to my boosts? I have no real budget since I'll pay whatever it costs, however long it takes me to get there, but I'm ideally looking for something below SOS level at the moment. I'd rather keep everything up to par rather than have one amazing constant and a sub-standard set otherwise.

My strategy usually involves 2 constants + burrow first turn, constant + shield + lupe breath (6 icons) rest of turns, constant + scroll + sink when healing needed, shield + dual duty + lupe breath when low on health or near victory. It's gotten me far but it could perhaps be improved (and with the addition of a new weapon may need to change regardless since my best weapon is no longer also dual duty).

To sum up:

-What should I upgrade next?
-In what order?
-What strategy should I adopt to use it to it's best?

RE: Set advice
Ancient Lupe Wand is an excellent Lupe species freezer. It can and does break, but it's a decent freezing weapon when you think you need one. I usually don't use mine in 1player fights, but sometimes I do, and it's cheap enough for you to at least keep the option available.

For 1player dual YBlasters will work, the horrible icon spread is more of a concern for 2player.

Honestly, right now at this very moment, you might as well upgrade right to SoS from the Blaster.

I'd work on getting dual SoS or SoS + GBomb before you upgrade shields.

With a Lupe you're looking at BoHD as the next upgrade for you healer, and being a Lupe owner myself I own one. Unless you're willing to morph species once you hit 200+ HP BoHD outdoes GHS enough to be considered. The price on BoHD sucks, but outside of that and LEV there isn't anything else, so you really don't have a choice do you?

1 -> Second YBlaster
2 -> Upgrade YBlaster to GBomb
3 -> Upgrade YBlaster2 to SoS
4 -> GShield, Healer, non-species Freezer, or GBomb to SoS2

RE: Set advice
I echo Nate's sentiments about Ancient Lupe Wand. Since you're not labbing, you have no need of the Snowglobe Staff.

Personally, I dislike Defense in One Player (it's too difficult to guarantee, and there are very few instances where a dual-duty will average more net icons than a constant). And keep in mind, the entire game is net icons.

Depending on whether you think it'll be downgraded, get a second Y-Blaster either now or later. Odds are the Physical will get hit most often, preventing Scuzzys Comb from being the backup I'd normally recommend. Instead, for backup, Pike Pike is probably your best bet since nothing lines up between the two weapons. Odds are you won't be needing to call on your backups anyway, though.

No Honey Potion? To be honest, there's little reason for you to bother. It's only narrowly better than the Y-Blaster, and it only shines if your Y-Blasters are taking a pounding by the opponent's defenses.

Eventually you'll need to upgrade your healer either to Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic, a species healer (recommended, but considering the cost of a freezer...), or Bag of Healing Dust. However, I'd argue the healer is the last thing you need to add to your set.

Instead, your next goal will be Ghostkerbomb and dual-Sword of Skardsen (pretty much in that order), and then the healer last. Oh, wait, you're training Defense. Ghostkershield and Faerie Tabard will be the last two things you pick up.

Overall, I'd recommend just pouring your money into training right now. I'm still praying for a downgrade on the Y-Blaster, but the likely event is that TNT will leave them as they are, and it's a trend that might suggest even more weapons will follow to bridge the 9 to 18 icon range.

RE: Set advice
Thanks for your help so far guys. I'll lose the earthen scorch and put another y-blaster there for now then so if I really need to I can still make use of the slight dark defence from GoC until I get to G-Shield. I will however give it just a little longer to make sure it isn't downgraded before I do so.

Shattered: Roughly how much would it cost to get my INT up to 500 for Yellow Tunic if I havent been training INT at all?

Just one more thing, if we pretend that the Ancient Lupe Wand doesnt exist, what would your suggestions be instead? Should I stop off at rainbow/black frost cannon or should I go straight for a 100% freezer? If so, which first? I ask this since my income isn't fantastic so I don't want a constant drain like ALW since I'll never make enough profit to afford any of the shiny weapons you've recommended Toungue

RE: Set advice
No clue how much the INT training costs, other than that there's a thread around here somewhere that lists several of the cheapest books. There's also the Scroll Potion route. Mostly, I was just listing off the possibility of SSYT: depending on if you take my advice and powertrain, you'll go through a (very long) period where any healer short of 50% won't be worth using.

Since you're not using Snowglobe Staff, I doubt you'd be happy with Black Frost Cannon (which is much better than its Rainbow counterpart). Thus you'd be going for whichever 100% freezer you prefer (probably Freezing Potion, since the Water would be less likely to be blocked than Magical Marbles of Mystery's Physical), and that would bump its place to... it depends on your battling habits. If you're looking to be ready for the next Battleplot (consider the lull space between ToW and TRoDS and that JLI was the only other plot in-between), you'd want it before Ghostkerbomb. But if you're mostly going for DoN missions you can always pick up Ancient Lupe Wands (so long as you're running a Lupe) or Terror Stone/Scroll of Freezing for any single battle.

Accoring to DArwin about 656 books cost him about 1.4 mil maybe even cheaper, Darwin has an excellent list of books most to maybe all of them are under 2k. I'll get you the link shortly. If you use scroll potion, it costs 2.5 mil, but most likely going by this way you're going to have to beg your way through, the bright side is you can always sell your scroll potion so you dont lose any of your money
