I'm thinking about spending most of my np to upgrade my shop enough to get into my friends mall

are malls good investments and worth while?

RE: Malls
They are if the mall is big enough and at least one of the member shops is large enough to end up in the first few hundred shops. But don't forget that everyone else is always increasing their mall size to move up....so there's always a cost war going on.

Frankly, I've never thought of a mall as the way to go. Maybe I should, but I just try to underprice everyone else and it seems to have come out OK so far.

RE: Malls
It really depends.

First off, it depends on securing a nice spot in a good mall. By good mall, I mean one with active members are are good at keeping their shop stocked, watch hut positions, advertise, etc. You don't necessarily need large shop sizes (since the marketplace is so randomized now). You just need members that are good at staying at the top of their huts.

Second, don't expect to make those millions you invested in upgrading back immediately. But if you do a good job and your mall is good, you should expect it back eventually. Eventually being usually at least a few months. For malling, you really just have to be organized and keep your shop stocked, and typically you can maintain this if you stock enough once a week. Just remember that once you get into malling, some of your profits will have to go into regular upgrades to maintain your hut position, and most malls do noticeboard ads too. The 4 million ads usually run at around 300k per spot.

Really it's up to you to make it worthwhile. Toungue

RE: Malls
A good investment? It depends on how much you can make elsewhere, but it's certainly the most consistent.

The real problem nowadays is the initial cost: it'll take you a year to earn that back (depending on what spot you get, but realistically it'll take a full year). Are you going to be on Neo for another year? It's an investment you have to stick out to see it through.

RE: Malls
I personally LOVE malling. I'm in a pretty decent mall, and make roughly 200-300k PROFIT a day. (that's the sales - the item costs) I have a shop sized 650, that means if I average 250k profit a day, that's 160 days to pay back the 40 mil. I spent, and the rest is pure profit. (Literally PURE) I've had my mall for almost a year now so it's already been payed off, and it was one of the best neocisions I've ever made. Some people complain about stocking their shops taking so long, but I spend on average 5 minutes a day (literally), restocking it!

Good Luck!!!

RE: Malls
I really don't see much proft as my catergories are 1k deals, avatars, music and school. Even though I may go about 100nps-2knps cheaper than the lowest. I know fully well that you really don't see any real results in a mini mall but I also know that I have not been a member of this mini mall for even 2 months yet but I can honestly say...that without the mall and being able to constantly keep my shop stocked...I would not be able to say that I could save up to or over 2.4m Now mind you, I am also including the cost of training via k-quests, buying items for faerie quests, upgrading my shop, paying 50k a week for notice board ad.
Buying any medicine if the healing springs has not healed my battle pet in too long while she is sick. I am rather thankful that I don't need to keep my shop stocked with items for my catergories but as well as other items. Although yes we are told to have the rest of our stock at or below sw price...I tend to have other items at mall prices all because that is where I make my profits. I do apologize for typing out a long reply...just wanted to share my experience. One last thing...you really do need to stick with it if you are to be able to get your shop size to go into main market.
