Should I sell my Fruit Bomb?

Should I sell my Fruit Bomb?
I can't remember how long ago it was, but I was one of the first 100 people to finish the Mystery Island Plot. I got a spiffy avatar, a few hundred K NP, and a weapon called a Fruit Bomb that does 16-20 icons, once per battle. In other words, it's a 50-of-a-kind Rainbow Clockwork Grundo.

Which begs the question: Why am I still using this thing? If I sold it, I could use the NP to buy a better bomb and a bunch of other things. Still, it's a great collector's item and a piece of Neopian history. Should I sell it? If so, how much should I ask?

RE: Should I sell my Fruit Bomb?
Actually no one will buy it for battle purpose, unless you offer 5 mil which is impossible. You can probably wait for an offer, like 50 mil. Only less than 50 (As time passes by I think less than 40) exists in neopia. It will take you a long time to sell it if you do so, but that will cause you no harm. This is still better than the highly fractional RCG, and you can equip it if you battle.

Remember if you sell it, you may not be able to buy it again.

RE: Should I sell my Fruit Bomb?
I agree. Selling it would get you a better bomb and then some. I also don't think cutejohn's 50 mill prediction isn't out of line either. Only 50 initially in existance has probably been whittled down due to players retiring or being frozen. Don't be in a rush to sell, and see what happens. Asking for an LEV and PCC in your trade will probably easily get some notice. Probably take alot of advertising on the boards as well.

Do you have any idea what the going rate is on them?

I don't know how much cash you have or what your set looks like (though if you're not using G-Bomb instead of that...), but I'm in the group that would say sell. Given the collector's value on things nowadays, it's probably an amount of money you could find better uses for. Unless you really like having a mini-G-Bomb in your set.

But that's just the practical side of things. Can you live without having a shiny one-of-a-few-of-a-kind?

Not at all. I entertained the idea to sell it a year ago, posted once on the Neoboards, and got an offer for about 8 mil, so I'm sure it's worth more than that.

My set is probably worth about 5 mil, and I have about 10 mil in stocks/bank (I'm looking to buy a cheap H4K, but that probably won't happen as long as the war is going on. I might just tower an MMoM).

I can live without a shiny few-of-a-kind (I have the avatar after all, which is almost as rare), but I don't want to let it go for cheap.

I'm assuming yours isn't the one on the Post then, asking for a Jade in the offer?

Try to find out the going rate, and try to sell it for that. Even at 10, it's still worthwhile given your relative worth. If it ends up being worth 20+ (which I think it should, but that might just be me) then you'll suddenly find yourself on a whole new playing field. (Why do people count Stock money in their wealth? Passing up on a million a month for 3 mil in a moment is never worthwhile.</random rant>Wink

Just ask yourself what the minimum is you want, and if it's worth more, sell. Simple as that.

Lol, no. I doubt it's worth that.

I say put yours in the market next to the other, asking for the LEV and a T-Tear, and see if there's any real offers.

See if the person with one wants to resell yours as well, you never know they might have the time and patience to get a really good deal for it.

I'm not sure what galery would be best for the bomb, but you could do searches on them in galleries, and then cross refrance items in those in additional searches to find people who have galeries that would nicely include it, but don't have it, yet.

Using super wiz, I found a grand total of 5 in galleries.

RE: Should I sell my Fruit Bomb?
I wouldn't sell it. But then I'm a hoarder by nature Toungue I suppose it would depend on the price you can get for it; I'd be sorely tempted at 25mil+.

5 out of 50, and TOSO has number 6. So where are the other 44? Even with half of the owners getting frozen/quitting, there should be more floating around. Are you sure the Super Wiz hits all the Galleries? When normal users search for Galleries we turn up less than we would for a Shop Wizard result (not just the thirteen areas, but Galleries are further divided).

Though hopefully that's a good sign for TOSO.
