RE: Rubik's Cube
Heh, I couldn't solve it yet, but I made all my classroom sort of addicted to it

RE: Rubik's Cube
omg i hate those things now, a kid on my cross country team had one and that is all he did because he thought that it would gain him popularity or something, he did it everywhere he went, in class, at lunch, in car rides, before meets, after meets....its kind of stereotypical that he is asian and doing one, as a friend pointed out

RE: Rubik's Cube
Today I got a 4x4x4 cube, anyone have one/solve them?
![]() it takes me around 15 minutes, if I get lucky on the last layer (The algorithms to fix some paritys on the last layer are 20+ moves long)

O_O jealous.
I wanna get a 2x2x2 cube. Are those easy? ´¨¨)) -:¦:- Fweem -:¦:- ¸.´ .´¨¨)) ((¸¸.´ ..´ -:¦:- ascii art <3 -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.´*™ |

20x20x20 anyone? ![]() I can't figure out a 2x2x2, actually. I made my 4x4x4 one into one by just turning it in segments of two, but I can't solve it, lol.

RE: Rubik's Cube
Hmm, most of you guys solve it with the layers method. I solve it using the corners first method. It's slow, but it should work in solving any type of cube (I haven't tried it on the 5x5x5 though).

RE: Rubik's Cube
I've never heard of that, care to explain it? o.o
On my 4x4x4, I basically turn it into a 3x3x3. First I'll pair up all the centers, and put them in the right spot (this is annoying, cause there is no set middle piece >_> ![]() then I'll pair up all the edge pieces, then solve like a 3x3x3, with the middle being 2 thick instead of 1 thick. Then I hope for no paritys, since the algorithm for that is literally 22 moves long >_>

RE: Rubik's Cube
Well, I first solve the top layer, then I align the bottom corners. After that, I make the corners face the right way. Next, I put the bottom edges into place to solve the bottom part. Finally, I solve the middle layer.

RE: Rubik's Cube
Did you think of that yourself? It seems to be working fine for me, except now I have 2 of the middle layer edges switched, twice in a row, and I don't know how to fix them

RE: Rubik's Cube
Nah, my middle school math teacher showed it to me. It would have been awesome to figure it out myself though.
To solve switch the edges, you have to rotate the cube so that the edges you have to switch are on the top layer. One of bad edges has to be towards you and the other one has to be opposite of the other. Then you twist the middle layer up, the top to the right, mid up, top right, mid up, top right, top right, mid down, top right, mid down, top right, mid down, top right, top right. I hope that was clear enough for you to understand.
