Reflection vs Shielding ??

Ok I just finished reading that really long article by Phoenix and my head is still spinning. I dunno if this is the right area to post but since it is about my set upgrades I chose to put it here.

Basically with the huge about of Portable Kilns now circulating I am looking for different options to kill them. I need a question answered that does not seem so simple any more.

If my opponent uses a Kiln vs me and I am using Faerie Tabard + 50% Flame reflector would I a) defend 5 icons then reflect 3, taking 3 icons worth of damage or b) reflect 5.5 icons, defend 5 icons, then take .5 icons damage or c) anything I have not thought of.

Basically which comes first reflect or shield?

Who clicked GO first?

From what I know depending on who clicked go first decides which multiplier is used on the icons, but I have never seen any tests for which item is used first.

It's based on the order you click them before hitting Go. Your weapons will be used in the opposite order you clicked them. If you click the Tabard second, it will resolve before the reflector, blocking all the Fire damage and reflecting none. If you click the reflector second, it will reflect half the icons and then your Tabard will take over and absorb the rest.

I could be wrong on this, since I don't recall if reflectors have a different priority than shields. I can't recall whether reflectors occur in the offense or defense "half" of the attack, or if they have a third level they occur during: I'm pretty sure it occurs during defense, though. If it's during offense, then it doesn't matter at all.


As a general thought, it wouldn't be advantageous to use a 50% reflector with the Tabard. But I just woke up and don't trust my mind to run the math on that (especially accounting for the tank probability).
