2-player set help, please. (again)
Species: Elephante
Level: 86 Health: 179 Strength: 158 Defence: 129 Move: 67 Intelligence: 268 I'm selling most of my set (Golden Compass, MOC, DMB, Hobans Hat) because I've decided that a dual-duty set isn't right for my pet any more. I want to be hitting harder. Budget: 14mil. Income: About 1mil a week. Training: K-Quests x10 daily, Terror Trove Scratchcards x5 daily, Codestones (Defense only) once daily (it's really expensive and takes forever so I only do it once). Light (a few times a week) lab ray use - I'm mad at it because it changed my pet's species to Kyrii and forced me to buy ANOTHER Elephante Morphing Potion, and losing defense points makes my head hurt, so I can't bring myself to lab daily. I do not need a freezer or a stealer. The guild I"m in has a "no 100% freezing" rule - so while I may invest in a Slumberberry Potion eventually, it's not on my priority list right now. And I don't want a stealer because I think most people are just too smart to leave something good in their 1st slot. Currently Packing: 1 - downsize! 2 - Elephante Unguent 3 - Honey Potion 4 - Leaf Shield leaving 4 open slots. Are any of the dual-duties I'm trying to unload right now worth keeping? (I have a crush on the DMB and the Hobans Hat. But MOC hasn't treated me well at all lately.) Should I switch out the trusty Leaf Shield for another shield? (I haven't used it in forever - but that's only because my set was all dual-duties so big gun+shield style battling wasn't an option or necessary for me.) And how should I fill out the rest of the empty slots? I'm okay with having an empty slot or two, as long as I've got two constants minimum - and then saving up and filling up those other two slots as I can. nobody? |

You should really drop your Leaf Shield. It's not in any way worth using at your level.
That way you have 5 slots left. My suggestion: Ramtors Spellbook x2 Bow of Destiny Bow of Destiny/Dusty Magic Broom Steaming Skeem Potion These constants provide you great sink and burrow blasting ability and also alternations to bypass common dual duties defenses (Dark, water, earth and light) at this level. If you use your spellbooks while your opponent (With similar stats) uses burrow, you're bound to win if he doesn't carry a 18 iconer. Assuming you use spellbooks and berserk attack, you will get 90 damage through, ignoring opponent's defensive items and resistances/vulnerabilities. You can keep the broom if you want to make use of your defense. Chinese stock guide : http://www.neopets.com/~cleverjohn |

Quote:That way you have 5 slots left. currently packing: 1 - Elephante Unguent 2 - Honey Potion 3 - downsize! 4 - Ramtors Spellbook 5 - Bow of Destiny 6 - Hobans Hat 7 - Dusty Magic Broom 8 - empty slot Since I'm not freezing, the bomb (Honey Potion) is pretty useless to me right now (except for in situations where the other person is healing/defending, isn't using a leaf shield, and has already wasted their burrow - because everybody I battle with regularly knows I have the Honey Potion. So really, it's pretty useless especially with no surprise element.) So sue me, I like the Hobans Hat. It doesn't hit hard but where I'm at right now I see a lot of water icons being thrown at me - which is the main reason I got it. Ditto DMB. I see a lot of light attacks. Plus I think that both DMB and Hobans Hat (what's the short-form for that anyway?) pair well with BOD in terms of shared icons. If I ditch anything it probably will be the RSB or the H-Pot or both. But in favour of what? And I'm still without a shield - but with two dual duties and a downsize! maybe that's not as huge of an issue. edited to add: current stats are as follows. Hit Points: 191 Strength: 159 Defence: 134 |

You keep you shield (either the Leaf shield or anyother) or you get a bigger weapon. I would take out the H-pot. Might i suggets a Fungus Ray or a Glowing Cauldron or a Portable Kiln even a Pike Pike. Just think which kind of icon can is less likely to be blocked. raziel_03 Wrote:I guess you have your question solved by yourself. oh, I probably don't have the question solved by myself. I'm just talking. I really SHOULD get other people's feedback more often and especially listen when they say I'm making an awful choice (like when I sold all of my weapons and switched to an all dual-duty set - everybody said "that's stupid" and I said "no way! it'll be great! who cares if I'm not hitting hard if people can't hardly hit me!". That was stupid. I clearly can't be trusted with my own set.) Quote:Then i see two options. You keep you shield (either the Leaf shield or anyother) or you get a bigger weapon. suggestions all noted. Now, is it more advisable to keep the set more or less monocromatic (dealing a whole lot of 2 or 3 icons) or is it best to have more variety? I can see drawbacks to both ways of going about it. I'm probably more apt to get a bigger weapon than keep the leaf shield. or get that slumberberry potion that I've had a crush on for so long. But keep the DMB and Hobans Hat? Yes, or no? |

Keep the dual duties. If you want to hit harder, add another BoD
