addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
Please consider adding the following to the ‘section FAQ’ under Smuggler’s Cove
To this: Another Smugglers Cove rule is that only 120 [or less] can exist of every weapon. Once they reach a certain limit, they stop restocking. You can consider them as 'retired'. (But since they are not officially retired, they are not on the Retired Weapons list.) Add this: In June of 2004, the Super Attack Pea showed up for a few weeks until 120 (?) were sold, then the Meepapault in August of 2006, then Sloth Approved Hair Gel in March of 2007. All Cove weapons sell out within a month, never to be restocked. That's it. Thanks to Shattered Riff; his answers clarified the Cove for me. I thought the limited supply of 120 alternated like every other shop. I had no idea the Cove offered only one weapon until it sold out, and how rarely a new one came out. (the months listed are based on when the first reviews of the weapon came out) I think other newbies would appreciate knowing. |

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
I don't think that's really necessary. It's basically a bit of useless trivia.

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
I think the FAQ covers it pretty well as it is.

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
Then how about:
"The Cove offers one weapon per year (or so) until it sells out (usually within a month), never to restock it again, so everything listed here is effectively retired." How are newbies supposed to know it doesn't stock multiple items and alternate them, like every shop? |

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
We cannot claim that a new weapon comes out every year. TNT could effectively ditch the cove and never release again for all we know.

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
Then put "So far, only one new weapon a year has come out."
The question there now is, "I waited all day and all night and all my life for this weapon to show up in the Smugglers Cove, but it never did. Know the reason why?" I know that frustration, even after studying the whole section. The answer is not "That weapon is sold out", but that EVERY cove weapon sold out three weeks after it appeared, never to restock again---and so far, only one new weapon a year has come out. I wasted a lot of time studying cove weapons, deciding. "OK, if a teapot shows up, I'll take that over a meeapapault---unless a pirate amulet is there--oh, that is called an 'old' cove item, so maybe it is sold out." The cove is different in more than just dubloons and random stocking, and this bit of info will save others my frustration. After studying the Section FAQ and (nearly) every review of every cove weapon, here is what I still did not know: I did not know which weapons had sold out (turns out they all had) I did not know the cove stocked only one at a time. I did not know a new one came out so infrequently. Even guides did not answer these questions, so I started the 'Ques. on Smugglers Cove' thread. My first wording suggestion (above) paints a picture of how the cove really works. I can see how it could be mistaken for 'useless trivia' by someone who assumes everyone already knows the answers to my questions. Images are ambiguous. Maybe a more direct telling is better. Now I suggest: "Every cove weapon sold out three weeks (or so) after it appeared, never to restock again---and so far, only one new weapon a year has come out." I have no stake in this, except to save other newbies the time and hope I wasted. I'd rather be lurking. False hope is exhausting. I'm glad to know I'll never restock a pea or any other cove weapon. It took some trouble to find that out, but thanks for the help. |

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
The thing is that TNT has re released different cove items before. I forget the exact date, but at one point they re released 20 of each cove item previously released.
So to say that they are never to be released again, is possibly an untrue statment, since in the past TNT has re released cove weapons. |

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
Also hasn't it been confirmed that if someone is frozen, meaning only 119 of that item would exist, TNT releases another in the cove?

RE: addition to Smugglers Cove FAQ
nope, items on a frozen person still exist.
It takes years before a frozen account is deleted... for inactivity -- The wind has no destination. |

Im pretty sure its actually the opposite. I think there was an editorial that debunked this. This rumor has been going around for years now, even before they did database purges, which means that the items would have always been on an account, and no items would have ever been rereleased to test this. I could be completly wrong about this though, but I don't want to go digging for the editorial right now. But if I am wrong, the day that v_teams account gets purged will be a fun day since it is rumored to have several of each pea. Although it won't do anything the help redistribute all of the FSlings that went down with the account. |

We can see if the theory is correct.
