Subeta (petsite, with battling)

Subeta (petsite, with battling)
Does anyone here play Subeta? I've been enjoying it more than Neo lately (I still play Neo and will never desert it for good, but sometimes it's nice to have a change, and it's so much easier to earn sp and reach goals at Subeta). The site has a "battle coliseum," which is similar to Neo's in some ways (mostly in fight structure), and different in other ways -- instead of stances/abilities, you teach your pet scrolls that are intelligence based, and there are more icon types, and the weather in the BC affects what your icons do, and training is sp-based and much faster than at Neo... stuff like that.

There's also a human avatar system that is actually a lot of fun. Tons of clothes, weapons and other random items are wearable, and people spend a fortune on their HAs. Here are a couple of mine:

[Image: eagleeyesword.png] [Image: prowlernewhair.png]

(The cloak in the first one is a full phys reflector; it's pretty nice.)

The games suck, though. There are no flash games, and you barely earn any sp through the games they do have. Restocking is easy, though, and questing is where the real money's at. (If anyone joins and wants a money-making guide, I'll provide one!)

If you want to get a general look, my account is here (Visla is my battlepet), and you can view all pet species and colors here.

Anyway, I'd love to see more IDBers there. I have quite a few friends who play, but not many of them are battlers, and it's hard to find info on weapons and strategies and stuff (sadly, there's no Subetian version of IDB!). If you want to register, just go to subeta.org and do so. You can put me down for referring you if you want, but it doesn't do anything (there's no referral prize system), so you certainly don't have to. Smile

I rarely join new stuff anymore, but I randomly decided that the two pictures above looked very nice, so I signed up an account (Q77). I'm guessing everything is the same as neopets? Not too sure if I'll get serious about it though

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
My problem would be the exact same that made me give up Marapets...barely enough time for Neo, much less attempting to keep up with a second pet site.

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
I'll do a little basic guide:

Pets: They all come in "common" to start with, and you can paint them using elixirs or potions (for example, "twilight montre elixir" is like a neo morphing potion, and "twilight potion" would be like a paintbrush; it changes color, not species). You can give your pets minions (like petpets), and they each have a "treasure chest" where you can stick any items you like (they show up underneath the pet, like my Visla here). You can also "lab" them with the pet zappers, v1 and v2. The zappers take wizard tokens (I will explain those below).

Training: It's sp-based, takes hardly any time (especially to start), and is here. Read your pet books to gain intelligence and alchemy points, which you need to teach it scrolls (like Neo's faerie abilities, except better), which you can buy in usershops/trades or create in the Secluded Shrine in The Sacred Lands. Boosts are listed here. The Battle Coliseum is here. The Healer (like the water faerie, except you pay) is here. Read the Battling forum for weapon advice and all that stuff.

Human Avatars: Buy clothes for your little dude in the clothes shop, accessory bin or sole train (among other places), and put them in your wardrobe.

Quests (MAIN MONEYMAKER): First, make a bit of sp doing some games. Then do Wizard Quests -- you can do all 20 in a row. Quit any that cost more than 10k sp. You can sell the tokens he gives you in your shop or hoard them for when things go on sale in the token shop. You can do Saggitarius Quests once you have over 750k. Spend up to 15k on 1-item quests and 30k on 2-item quests and you will most definitely turn a profit. Those are the big two, but Cursed Quests are also decent -- spend about 5k per quest, maybe 10k, there. Sell the items.

Restocking: Rs at any of the main shops or the shops in each world. Many items are actually profitable, books especially, and of course any newly-released clothes. Profitable items can even sit around for several minutes, so rsing is MUCH easier than at Neo. You can't get rs banned.

Cash Shop: You can buy weapons, minions, and other things for real money. You'd think this would cause problems, but it doesn't. You can sell anything you buy there for sp, which means you can find most of the items in trades for sp. Sp is super easy to make, so there's not a lot of point in buying your way to riches through the cash shop unless you're lazy. Wink

Millionaire Center: Where you can trade sp for great weapons and things.
Token Shop: Where you can trade Wizard Tokens for great weapons and things.
Blackheart Hollow: Basically the Hidden Cove. Takes tokens as well.

If you have any questions, let me know. It can be a little confusing at first.

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
For sag quests, be careful of this:

I expect a certain amount of sP to be put into my quests. Sadly, you just can't provide that.

if you have 751k (like me) and then do a quest, spend some cash you'll end up unable to complete the quest. No biggy, but just a note.

So it seems I got temporarily addicted to this new game. In less than 24 hours I can claim I'll be a millionaire XD, so yeah it's not that difficult to make sP in this game.

From a new players perspective:
1. Graphics are better drawn than neopets, but the programming is not as up-to-date.
2. Browsing around is very difficult, you'd have to use bookmarks, are stay on this thread and use the hyperlinks provided by cranbToungue
3. Money wise things are a lot easier to get.
4. Still a new game, not sure how it'll go.

Muhahaha?

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
It gets a lot easier as you play more -- I rarely have trouble finding things now. But yes, I remember it being harder to navigate when I started!

Also, Keith (the owner) and his programming team are currently recoding the entire site to make it run faster and fix any glitches. That's gonna go live in September, I think. The site itself has improved so much since 2004... even since when I started playing 8 months ago. Back then, it lagged a lot and there was quite a bit of downtime. Now it's running faster than Neo for me, much of the time. Wink

I should have mentioned that Saggi thing, sorry! Yeah, probably make sure you have at least 850k before trying. Smile

Oh, and gold account medals... you can buy them in the cash shop for real cash, or in trades for sp (1 month gold account medal, currently around 2 mil). They give quite a few advantages -- up to 10 pet spots instead of 5, 15% discount on training, access to the GA forum, 30 quests instead of 20, and, my favorite, the autopricer. Once a day, you can autoprice your shop -- it sets everything to the lowest price in Subeta (it shows you what those prices are first, so you can choose not to price some items if you want). It's the best ever.

Funny...there is an event telling me I should go read the Frequently Asked sticky on the forums, but the link is "Not Found" and my account is too young to see the Forums....

Ah, yeah, they had some big trouble a while back with some of the chan people registering accounts and spamming the forums, so now you have to wait a little while.

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
I don't try new pet sites. I already tried two others, Marapets and Powerpets, and I can say they both suck. (in my opinion, of course) Other places also have battling areanas, but the thing I like a about neo is that you have to work hard for your goals, making when you complete them enjoyable.

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
Ok I can now go to the forums. I've found that when you are RSing, sometimes there are over 20 items and then when you refresh there are 0...I'm not sure if this is a temporary RS ban or just all the items really were sold (this was in BD weaps) Also, I'd like to start getting into the battling area of subeta, but like said, there is no IDB, and all I've been able to find are items under 10k (which by price I assume are junk weaps)
Cranb, do you know where I could find a layout of weapons that are commonly used? Something like:
FSS and peas
SoS/PCC/jade/LEV and all those big things
BoD, UBG, some stuff in the middle
Scarab ring, etc. Newb stuff that's good but quickly not used if you're upgrading quickly.

EDIT-kinda to answer my own question XD but I missed the subeta fan site cranberry posted earlier. It has a good list of recommended weaps. Kinda like the IDBToungue

Muhahaha?

RE: Subeta (petsite, with battling)
The Battling forum will also help a lot. The thing about this site is there's really no newbie and mid-class battling, heh. There are very few cheap-but great weapons. It's so easy to make sp that most people jump right to the big guns. I mean, you can buy a full healer for under 7 mil, and you made a mil in a day... Wink

Here's a little list of weapons I like, just for fun:

Phoenix Quill (100% healer)
Rainbow Vortex (reflects 50-100% of every icon type)
Shinwas Temple Shard (it's a T-tear)
Reborn Icewand of Doom (sort of I-Staff/WoDF-like, except actually obtainable)
Ignitious (like SoS or PCC)
Pandemonium (also like SoS/PCC)
Sack of Crystalline Shards (a step up from Ignitious/Pandemonium)
Identity Star Shuriken (best bomb)
BunBonny (another good bomb)
SubetaBall (100% stealer)
Gatekeeper Collar of Slavery (100% freeze)

As for the shop thing, it's just clearing. I believe only a certain amount of items can be in the usershops at one time, so once they get too full, they clear. You're not banned, and will see stuff again starting with the next rs. Smile It's nice because it means the same useless items don't sit there forever.

cooly9052, yeah, it feels great when you reach a goal on Neo, and Neo is by far the best petsite out there. But sometimes it's nice to be able to reach goals more quickly -- and after playing Subeta for 8 months, I'm still not bored, because they are constantly releasing new awesome clothes, weapons, and pet colors (seriously, they update the news at least once a day, including weekends, and often more times). No matter how much you make there, you can spend it all and still want more. Wink That's why I play both sites -- I can get the best of both worlds, grabbing all the clothes and weapons I like at Subeta pretty quickly, while saving up for great stuff for my Neo battleset at the same time.
