Need help on : Slug Monster ... ... =x

Hmm.. I'm getting very frustrated with the slug monster (For DoN) .. He uses the vile swamp water in almost every fight, and strangely enough, my pet never fails to catch the 'watery eyes' diesease from him.. (1.5k to buy the onion balm) Any suggestions to help me beat him is appreciated.

My Pet:
Endurance : 220
Strength : 125 boost
Defence : 55 boost
Agility : 100

Weapons I used:
H4k helmet
Ppots (x2)
Thick Smoke Bomb
SoA

Dual ppots can effectively do around 217 to him. Borrow works well but sink almost defends nothing against him. Need at least 3 clean turns to finish him. I have tried many different combinations but ended up buying more 'Onion Balms' instead. Any suggestions?

As for the slug monster, your defense is way too many boosts below slug monsters atk to be effective. I'd suggest training up your stats more before you try and take down the slug. If feeling lucky, you might be able to use reflectors though:
something along the lines of
shovel+dryer+ drain life
ppot*2+burrow
ppot+TSB+beserk/fierce, if you think you can finish him

You'd have to assume he doesn't use jade or tear, and have a ton of luck.

Hey thanks. I haven't really tried shovel + dryer cos I felt that they wouldn't be reflecting enough icons to do sufficient damage BUT I might be wrong. Sounds like an idea worth considering. He doesn't have a tear but has both a 100% freezer and a full healer.

Hmm, would a higher defense boost really increase my chances against him? Cos I felt that defense never really played part in my previous DoN opponents.. (Except thick smoke bomb / Downsize!) I have a winged scarab too but that probably won't help against the rancid battle dung that the slug uses..

actually it's true your defense won't help you much and isn't really needed
Defense does NOT do anything with TSB, downsize! (for sure) and is better when lower for winged scarab (I think)
However, if all you want to do is just complete DoN, then you can just increase hp. With p-pots as your main source of attack, all that really matters is your hp in the short run.

I also doubt the reflectors will be succesful but good luck trying.
