Sword Of Apocalypse- is there a .5 icon variabllity increment?)
First, let me preface that I wouldn't be surprised if this is already known, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere.

The Ravenous monsters, as some people may have noticed, are only capable of using the catious stance. (It doesn't actually say what the stance is, but if you use 2 constant icon attackers with the same stance, and either never use an ability which does damage or always use the same ability against them, and they don't block any of it, you'll always do the same amount of damage, and the math works out in a way which would have them using the cautious stance.)

Because my pet doesn't have enough HP that I can just keep beating the monsters by Baserking every turn and, and just take all the blows, I have found it safest to use Drain Life, Burrow, and sink the first 3 turns of the battle in which he isn't frozen. This uses up my power bar, leaving ME stuck in the cautious stance as well. Because the monster's HP is starting to get up there, I am often going at the weaponless monster several turns per battle with my best 2 constant attackers, Bow of Destiny and Sword Of Apocalypse.

After probably a couple hundred turns of attacking with those weapons on the cautious stance with those 2 weapons with my 250 boost (5.5 multiplier) pet, I noticed something. There were only so many different amounts of damage that the 2 weapons were doing, not the whole potential range of 118-143. Curious, I started writing down what these amounts of damage were.
Eventually, I had enough duplicates that I was satisfied that I had found them all: 118, 121, 124, 127, 129, 132, 135, 138, 140, and 143.

I noticed that, when you do some rounding:
21.5 icons*5.5= 118.25 (rounds to 118)
22 icons*5.5= 121
22.5 icons*5.5= 123.75 (rounds to 124)
23 icons*5.5= 126.5 (rounds to 127)
23.5 icons*5.5= 129.25 (rounds to 129)
24 icons*5.5= 132
24.5 icons*5.5= 134.75 (rounds to 135)
25 icons*5.5= 137.5 (rounds to 138)
25.5 icons*5.5= 140.25 (rounds to 140)
26 icons*5.5= 143

This leads me to wounder weather Sword Of Apocalypse Is actually capable of doing fractions of icons in smaller increments than .5. I would be willing to help test this idea more thuroughly, although I'm pretty busy over this weekend between bugcrunching and homework.

Thoughts, Comments, Questions? Am I a total n00b for just figuring this out now? or is it new knews?

Sink blocks the water and physical from his mudball and the water from his slorg slime. And some blocking is better than none.

Yup. That's why I did it. Toungue When I did some more observations though, I figured out exactly how much his weapons did, (the MATH I had done told me some different things because I had forgotten about the 20% chomby resistance to physical) and realised I could take sink out of the stratagey... it was unecisarry, the cautious stance was usually enough to protect me from any weapons he had left from any of the weapons he threw at me (although burrow sometimes sped it up, as blocking one of the weapons ment I could afford to take more damage from the other). But yes, you had my motivations there correct.

Also, while I have not yet collected data, I have noticed a similar effect with my Ghostkerbomb. I'm begining to wounder if TNT changed the BD arround so that Icon frationality, atleast from variable weapons, only comes in half icons? If it wasn't already that way? Comfirmation, positive of negative?

See ghostkerbomb data it was already like that

increment can be in many form, 0.25,0.33,0.5 etc

Sorry obiwanpi, you didn't make a "ground-breaking discovery". I thought the same when I found the increments (althought by different methods) when I testing the Spirit Bottle. Alas, Phoenix brought it to my attention that it was already known Toungue

Anyway, to reinforce what Phoenix said, all variable weapons have this "variability increment" (at least I believe most of them do). The increments vary for each weapon.

To answer your question, there won't be a different increment. SoA will always have a .5 increment (unless TNT decides to change that)

Although no longer a ground-breaking discovery, you should be very proud of discovering this all by yourself. If only a few years prior, you would've been FAMOUS! Toungue
