Classical Music
Chopin is my favourite composer. I play the piano. Chopin composed exclusively for the piano. Therefore, I exclusively love Chopin.

And Liszt as well.

RE: Classical Music
I personally love Chopin too, even though I'm a Violinist. However, I am going to move this to the Entertainment forum, because even though Music is a wonderful form of art, the Entertainment forum is made for Movies, TV and Music specifically.

RE: Classical Music
I used to play the piano. I was given a Baby Grand Piano when I was 8 by my grandparents.
They bought me lessons it ended up not working out so I tought myself.
By age 10 I was playing Beethoven's 5th and a few other things.
Age 13 I was playing November Rain (from memory).
I lost my piano (due to space and other unfortunate events) when I was 16. I'm hopefully getting a piano back in the year and I cannot wait. I miss playing so much (I'm 23 now).
I know it will take me a bit to get skills back but I am determined. I loved it way too much.
As far as my fav composer....I'd have to say a tie between Beethoven and Vivaldi.
I love Four Seasons with a passion...I listen to it all the time. So ya.

*has always wished for a grand* But our upright has served me well for many years. Toungue
Chopin is one of my favorites too, and so is Beethoven. They're all good, haha.

Seven years without playing? I can't imagine...! =O But if you had a good foundation in basic skills, which sounds like you do, I don't think it would be too difficult to relearn. Good luck! Smile

A vote for Liszt, Franz was lonely!

You can pretend to care, but you can't pretend to BE THERE!

I always wished for a grand piano. My dad says that when I get older, and I'm in the musical career, he'll buy me a grand piano and a place just to put it.

Beethoven is good too. But his piano music isn't as good as Chopin.

RE: Classical Music
Yes, I know I'm months too late on this conversation but i'll still add my 2 cents.

When I was about 6 years old, my dad bought a record (think big 12-inch black cd for you young'uns Big Grin) called Mozartmania by a guy called Waldo De Los Rios. It was modern interpretations of Mozart's most popular compositions and it HOOKED me on classical! I hunted them down on mp3 not that long ago, and have been expanding ever since. I have to admit that I tend to stick to the "popular" stuff, but I must say I have an impressive collection now.... It grew to the point that I have to have a seperate folder for my classical. (Tchaikovsky doesn't go well next to Tool)

Enforcing all of the laws that haven't been passed yet

RE: Classical Music
For some reason Canon by Pachelbel is my favourite. With classical music I'm also more into piano than other instruments, but Vivaldi's Summer, it's so energetic Smile
