Nowadays, the psychological situation that the youth faces is unpredictable, because it is not as simple as past generations.
Nowadays, we are bombarded by different messages, messages of a sicken perfection, an unreachable status. Every day, the families are stopping to be, they are becoming just communal houses, every day, the hopes are extinguished.

Now, the anguish, the despair and the agony of the youth take us to diverse acts, like struggling for not being squished, but the ones who haven’t fight, the ones that have been already severally struck by the life, without having something to stand it, they just want a exit.

Several “exits” are know, taking as a example, releasing your pain in art, sports, or doing something constructive, but there exists some substances that produces altered mental states.

These substances are ranged from alcohol and tobacco to strong narcotics, like heroin and peyote, the last one giving another dimension of reality, giving new worlds. We will focus on these drugs.

For hallucinogens, there exists both natural and synthetic, taking as examples the mushrooms and the LSD, respectively.

The usual effects of these drugs are increasing the user’s sensibility, making him or her aware of unnoticed things; they begin to see how the things leave auras after they move, the lights usually become more beautiful, or it can be a really bad nightmare. These conditions are called trips, a good trip or a bad trip, depending on the case.

The danger with these drugs is that their effects can’t be predicted, so the user becomes more vulnerable to deadly accidents, since the awareness state that the user gains may distort the reality at such point, that the user would be immersed in another world.

The importance of creating a reliable ambient for the youth, not being careless or overprotective, will help to avoid this kind of problems, since having a sane mind, the use of easy escapes is useless.

If a young one feels like the world is going to end, give him or her support, the adolescence is an unbalanced period, and with the actual situation, is pretty easy to fall in any addiction.

I have seen this exact situation unfold; I think this issue is one that should be looked into more, because of how easily it can be avoided. I like the title of the article "Hallucinogens, a false escape from pain."... I think that is an effective way of portraying one of the main reasons why individuals begin to pick up these addictions.

Just out of curiosity, do you have a connection with the author (Is it you, someone you know, etc?)... Just wonderin' .

It was a personal choice, in the addiction field, I preffer stuying drugs, and the hallucinogen ones are pretty interesting for me, not going to be medic, by the way.

Besides, we could write about anything for it

Edits are in brackets. Don't worry about there being a lot of 'corrections' - some stuff is just my personal preference, and not any hard and fast rule. I usually try to edit stuff to flow well/sound pleasing, not just have good grammar If that annoys you, I could take out all the non-essential edits for you.
