RE: Which Weapon to Choose
You're training your Defense up first?
Since you're at the 35 Boost, I'll recommend Thief Dagger. My Digimon fanfic "Illusory Memories" is complete: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3798268/1/Illusory_Memories "If the Spectres have resurfaced, this is no longer a game between us and the Phoenixes. RE: Which Weapon to Choose
Thief Dagger will be totally, absolutely, utterly demolished by Leaf Shield though.
I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties. |

RE: Which Weapon to Choose
Hmm, i'm starting to consider the Thief Dagger now, i think i'll run into quite a few SC and RSB later. It's just the price tag and the weak amount/type of icons that's bothering me. It might be the dagger though, i dont want to spend 200k+ on the ES =s
Yeah, i'm training defence first. It feels cooler. I like using dual duties and shields for some reason, and most people overlook the defence and challenge me because of my strength boost. (which i want to keep at and fight at lower levels until i have the funds to get a better set) "Thief Dagger will be totally, absolutely, utterly demolished by Leaf Shield though." You're right =( |

RE: Which Weapon to Choose
Yeah.
But I have found Leaf Shield is less common then people think. In Addition, you will be knocking off that defence of their leaf shield to overrun with...say...Honey potion or something(By knocking the Phsyical defence to only around 1/2 and the Earth down to 3, the Honey pot will be doing more then a regular weapon). IMO, it goes: 1. Thief Dagger(Knocks Comb down to only 4, knocks SORF down. Can hit random phsyical weapons.) 2. Etheral Sword(More light defence and mono-air, which is hard to block. Brings comb down to 5, brings Spellbook down to 5.) 3. Amulet of Inevitable Betrayal(Better then Sword of The Dead). Also, the Amulet is trashed by Leaf Shield too. So Etheral Sword if your scared of leaf shield, Thief Dagger otherwise. *Knows useless stuff* |

RE: Which Weapon to Choose
Yeah, that makes sense. I'll probably be going with Thief Dagger then. It's a backup weapon anyways, ugg

WiltChamberlain13 Wrote:Thief Dagger will be totally, absolutely, utterly demolished by Leaf Shield though. And I have yet to see one in a 2p battle since I came back from my several months break from neos. I run a thief dagger now, and I don't have a problem. (My pet is at the 55 boosts and I do quickfight all the time) I don't like shields and non-100% freezers... Challenge Swift_Rev14_6 if you are a 55 boost pet lookin for a fight (no 100% freeze ofcourse) BTW, 2p FTW! |

RE: Which Weapon to Choose
Also, I just looked at it.
Thief Dagger brings Leaf shield's earth and phsyical defence down to: 2 Earth Defence, 0-2 Phsyical Defence. This let's you bomb with a honey potion while using Thief Dagger(Perhaps while using Burrow/Sink). *Knows useless stuff* |

RE: Which Weapon to Choose
As a general opinion about Leaf Shield, I see it as being very weak. Remember, you're using two weapons each round, and in order for a pure shield to be "worthwhile" it needs to be knocking half of your Opponents attack. Your Thief Dagger would still be getting its defense through (which should be the primary reason you ever take it out), so it's not being totally clipped down. Sure, Leaf Shield knocks Physical, but most weapons have Physical tacked on, and head-on Leaf Shield loses in almost all those cases. The only common item I can think of that Leaf Shield trashes is Essence of Esophagor, and Leaf Shield is the main reason those aren't used as of ten as they might be.
Overall, Leaf Shield looks like a wasted slot in a set. Don't be afraid of it when you're thinking about getting Thief Dagger. Or look at it this way: your second weapon (Golden Compass usually, given your set) is getting through it. Scarab Ring would feel pain, but its defense would still be shining through, and the combined Physical defense of Scarab Ring and Thief Dagger would probably knock the Physical off of whatever weapon they're using as their second. You'd be getting two defensive icons through, and defending up to twelve (more likely averaging three, netting you five, and netting them six offense plus their Leaf Shield). Given that there isn't a general way to knock Golden Compass, it's doubtful that you'd be on the losing end of that trade-off.
