Do you mind giving us your budget as well?

You should also be training at the Krawk Island Swashbuckling Academy for your level so you can train strength and defence as well, and not only lab. Using the lab shouldn't cause many problems at this stage since your stats are still low, but don't become obsessed with it.

I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties.

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
I currently have no budget for my weapons because I recently bought the missing pieces to my lab map but let's say around 100k-500k which I can make in less than 2 weeks. Is it possible to train at the academy while labbing? I haven't started training yet and I lost 5 agility on the 2 days I labbed.

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
Lucky you. Movement (agility) is not necessary in the Battledome unless you are prepared to use a Heavy Robe of Thievery. Of course it's possible to train at the Krawk Island Swashbuckling Academy while labbing. It just isn't possible to train there when your pet is already in the Mystery Island Training School, or vice versa.

With the Ancient Lupe Wand, I don't see a need for Snowglobe Staff. Your set is fine for now, but if you can make up to 500K within 2 weeks, then go for a month and save up a million. Then you can get a Honey Potion and Scuzzys Comb or Ramtors Spellbook depending on whether you do 1-player, 2-player or both. I'd put the Downsize! back into your set to replace Ice Club or Stone Club.

Just keep training.

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
I was planning on training to use the Heavy Robe of Thievery since I mainly do 1P battles and rarely do 2P. Having a Honey Potion in my set would be great since I lack a bomb, what would I be replacing then? About the Ancient Lupe Wand its a fragile 100% freezer which gives me the chance to use the Ice Club and Stone Club and fiercely attack, its also a good item to use against people who use stealers because I put it on the first slot. I'm keeping my Snowglobe Staff just incase the lab changes my pet species.

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
Eh, doing more 1-player battles is a reason NOT to use Heavy Robe of Thievery since you cannot always steal good items from your opponents.  It'll be a waste of money.

I would replace Scarab Ring with the Honey Potion.  And after you freeze your opponent, you can use Golden Compass and one of the Clubs instead of both Ice Club and Stone Club.  You'll still deal 18 icons.  Plus, the Golden Compass does 2.6 Darkness Defense so it is quite useful since you don't have another form of Darkness Defense in your set.

Oh, so should I stick to my Sticky Purple Hand for now? There's something I also wanted to ask, can you explain to me str/def boosts? I couldn't understand the guide about it and I think its better if someone explained it to me.

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
Yes, the Purple Sticky Hand is good enough.

As for the strength and defence boosts, I'm not too sure either, but I'll do what I can:

Basically, the damage you do is the amount of icons you do from your weapons multiplied by the damage multiplier.  So:

Quote:List of Boosts and the Damage Multiplier
0 - 0.5
8 - 0.75
13 - 1.0
20 - 1.25
35 - 1.5
55 - 2.0
85 - 2.5
125 - 3.0
200 - 4.5
250 - 5.5
300 - 6.5
350 - 7.5
400 - 8.5
450 - 9.75
500 - 11.0
550 - 12.0
600 - 13.0
650 - 14.0
700 - 15.0
So if you are using a Ramtors Spellbook only, you are dealing 10 icons.  If your strength is somewhere at 0-7, then you'll do 10x0.5 damage, which is 5.  If your strength is at 700 or higher, you'll do 150 damage (10x15, 10 being icons and 15 being multiplier).

As for defence boosts, I'm not sure how it works, but I think it cancels out?  Let's use a Goo Blaster this time.  If pet A has 125 strength and uses a Goo Blaster against pet B with 55 defence and uses a Leaf Shield, pet A should be causing 33 damage (125 boost is 3.0 multiplier and Goo Blaster does 11 icons) using the Goo Blaster, without Fierce Attack or Berserk Attack (these only make things more complicated).  Since Leaf Shield entirely blocks Goo Blaster, you'd think that pet A would do 0 damage to pet B.  But since pet A is two boosts ahead of pet B, that's 1.0 damage multiplier difference, meaning that pet B can only block 2.0x11 (2.0 being multiplier and 11 being the icons Goo Blaster does) which is 22 damage, meaning that pet A will still do 11 damage to pet B.

Hopefully that has helped you with understanding the boosts thing.

First read this article if you haven't.
http://idb.finalhit.org/?searchtype=page...es&a_id=80 (link corrected thnx wilt)

Then based on that table,

(number of icons done)*(strength boost)*(stance of yourself)*(stance of opponent) = damage done before opponents defence

thats why having a good strength boost is important
and note that (strength = defence) boost

To find your boost, here's an excerp from the list:
20 - 1.25
35 - 1.5
55 - 2.0

If your strength is 20-34, your boost is 1.25
If your strength is 35-54, your boost is 1.5
You need to reach 55, to get boost 2.0

**Correct me if im a bit wrong.. i may be a bit out of touch Toungue

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
Eddie, I think you mean the article here.  Also, I think Mrk has already read that and is still confused, which is why he asked for explanation.  And instead of "strength boost" in the equation, I think you mean "damage multiplier".

Further expanding on Berserk Attack, Fierce Attack etc...

Normal Attack +20%
Jump and Attack +30%
Fierce Attack +40%
Berserk Attack +50%

Defend -20%

So according to Eddie's equation there, using a Ramtors Spellbook with the 55 strength boost and Berserk Attack while the opponent uses Defend.

10 x 2.0 x 150% x 80% = 24 damage

Using a Ramtors Spellbook with the 55 strength boost and Fierce Attack while the opponent uses Defend:

10 x 2.0 x 140% x 80% = 22 damage

You can use the Damage Calculator here if you want to calculate damage without using your head. It gets really complicated if you involve all the factors, meaning:

1. Strength boost (and damage multiplier) of A
2. Defence boost (and damage multiplier) of B
3. Stance of A
4. Stance of B
5. Offence of either person
6. Defence of either person

RE: Newbie Seeking Battledome Advice
Ok, now I think I understand strength boost, still kinda confused about the defense boost... Thanks for elaborating about the boosts, Wilt.
