my pet stats:
hp 154
strength 81
defence 101
speed 20
intel 500

i fight 2player battles
i have no care for freezers so please suggest it (i dont fight in ncw events and i only join guilds with no freeze in the war rules)

my stats are built for league 7 and a decent 55 booster so dont suggest training either please

my question is...whats a decent shield upgrade from pmh for up to 1mil np, and should i keep downsize or should i go for another dual duty/shield

im looking to defend a decent amount of iconage from each icon type (excluding water) since as u can see im a pretty defensive battler

I don't think there are any shields between Leaf Shield/Patched Magic Hat and G-Shield/Tabard. (G-Shield being the direct upgrade from PMH.)

As for Downsize!: it really depends on how confident you are overall that not only can you block whatever's being thrown at you, but that you are. Downsize! is more designed to either be a "stronger" shield for one turn, or to be a one-turn shield when your shield/dual-duties aren't proving sufficient against your opponent. The real question is: what weapon can't you block right now, and what shield/dual-duty could it be covered by? And if you switched Downsize! out of your set for that, is there any type of strategy you would be vulnerable against and left guessing too much with your shields/dual-duties?

Not a chance. Train your strength and defence. Your pet just cannot stay at these stats forever. Especially when you have a Kacheek and shouldn't lab, your pet will definitely stay at these stats forever if you don't train.

I have no idea why you don't want to defend water. I don't really care why, but water is still a type of icon and you should defend it as well since you are a "pretty defensive battler". And since you are so "defensive", you might as well sell the Wand of Reality and Bow of Destiny for other dual-duties or shields. After selling them, you can get a Faerie Tabard and now continue to save up for a Ring of the Lost. Now you can block every single icon there is, so you can sell that Patched Magic Hat. And if the guild is only no freeze, you can also get a Purple Sticky Hand. I'd switch the weapon order around if your guild doesn't include a "no steal" rule.

Oddly, you get more icons through most shields if you double up on either one of these than you do by using both of them.

If you are not also sticking to guilds that ban Everlasting Crystal Apple then you need to get one. Against similar stat opponents with the 55 Str boost, it negates 15 icons of their damage every round. Against 85 boost opponents, it negates 12.5 icons every round.

If you are in guilds that ban ECA, then consider Bracelet of Kings which heals slightly less on average, but has two other possibilities that are strong for a defensive battler abusing the previous NCW league structure.

Well that's odd, as by the NCW interim calculator, you're league 8 now, but I guess you're min/maxed for before they instituted the defense adjustment. And in that case you could have 2 more hit points before training out of the league.

Not sure if any of these count as "decent" but the shields in that price range are:

Winged Scarab
Frozen Commander Shield
Sophies Magic Hat
Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard

Unless you're very good at predicting when the opponent will bomb, lose the Downsize.

AFC + MoC gets you Earth, Dark and Light. You're skipping water, so you need Physical, Fire and Air.

Winged Scarab would cover physical and a little bit of air.
Sophies Magic Hat, Frozen Commander Shield or Scarab Ring will cover Physical and Fire.

You really don't have any good options for blocking fire or air, so you may want to consider 50% reflectors or going with mediocre options such as Greater Fire Potion, Mystical White Cloak or Earthen Scorchstone

I hear ya Wilt, But as he's looking to upgrade the Patched Magic Hat to something else, I didn't plan on it still being in the set.

Honestly with AFC and MoC already in the set, Leaf Shield would likely be better than PMH, although primarily for the water blocking, which he likely doesn't want because it will only matter against snowballs, Icy Battle Duck and Ultra Bubble Gun.

If you are looking for another dual duty, scarab ring would be nice against fire. Of all of the common fire dealing weapons scarab ring will take care of all of them, when factoring in your higher than normal defense boost. It will still loose against PKlin, but that is super hard to block period, and not super common. It could be a nice back up against skeletal fire guns, MoC (trades evenly if I did the math correctly), and destroys SoA. It also combos with AFC against SC/SoRF, but commons up 1 damage short of trading evenly with Scuzzys comb.
You obviously wouldn't be using it super often, but it can shine in certain cases.

I am also confused why you don't want water defense. Pike Pike and EoE, are fairly common constants that get destroyed by Hobans Hat, and since you are fairly defensive you probably do not need the WoR or BoD, which frees up another slot and 3.5 mil

That's what I'm shooting for, I WANT to stay at this league and boost level.

I'm confused, it says..."You are in Stat-based league: 7


with Strength Boost of 55, Endurance of 154, and Defence Boost of 85

Note: If you are 2 def boosts or higher than your strength boost, you will be moved up a league. This adjustment does not apply to League 16 and above. "

I am in league 7 with defence one boost higher than strength, so I should stay in league 7.

There are only a few weapons that are used that deal 5 icons of water, so I'm not worried about it. Plus, any other icons that come with the water I'd be able to block, pretty much cutting the weapon down by at least 50%. If you can find a shield that would block fire and air plus some water icns for under a mil, I'll buy it, otherwise, I'll take a few rare icons and save 7mil thatd be needed for an f-tab.

I want to block fire and air because I've gotten slain by them many times over (weapons that deal at least 5 fire and are common are rotl, royal wedding ring, geb, greater fire pot, ive seen some skeletal fire guns, and mass fire from moc and pkiln) air isnt taht bad, but is still decently common with wor and bod out there

I want to deal out my d! for a shield since I rarely use it and 2 shields would give more options to help block stuff

No offence, but you truely are a waste of a human life if you always want to stay where you are, and never proceed to the next level until you have gone to the ultimate.

Two shields is way too many, especially when you already have dual-duties to help defend.  If you use two shields at once, you really can't do much except maybe healing using Drain Life, Water of Life or other Faerie abilities.  Otherwise, you can attack using your pet abilities.  It's better if you either use one shield which can block a variety of icons and a strong attacker, or just two dual-duties.  Normally, using the Mask of Coltzan and Air Faerie Crown will suffice (you already have that combination) as the dual-duties, but it only blocks three out of the seven icons there are.  You might want to try the Bottle of Magic Sand for and which will increase the amount of icons you block, leaving out only and to go.  And since you don't want you might want to try out the Greater Fire Potion for the and the that it does.

This is something I haven't thought of: I don't see why you need a bomb when there's no freezer to come before it.  Sure, the Rainbow Clockwork Grundo does a variety of icons, but Sink will totally demolish it.  You might want to sell it for more cash

If you do want the advisers to give more advice, I advise you to give us an approximate budget of yours and whether stealers are allowed or not.

and I do raise myself to the next level, I upgrade my set, it's not like I don't do anything, I worked pretty hard to get my set and the stats I have (ive played 4 monthes so far)

theres too much competition in 55 boost/league 7 to pass up right now and there are still many people that beat me and i refuse to go to the next boost until i can be totally satisfied with what im doing

Thatd bring me to around 4.3, only enough to buy the greater fire pot from your list wilt, any suggestions what to do with the rest of the money and the extra slot that cleared up because of me selling the rcg?

I've looked at HHat, but it's a bit pricey for what it does and the icon variety isnt to my liking, if I can't fit air defence in I'll consider it
