Using Kitchen Quests to gain stats would take a way longer time though, right? And regarding the previous post about the Winged Scarab, do you think I should get it?

Hey Wilt -- As a 1-player only battle-er (made it through the last 7 missions of DoN this weekend! ) I came to appreciate the value of the various reflectors: Ultra Dark Reflectorb, Dual Battle Mirror, Double Dryer, Shovel Plus, and Super U-bend. They're cheap and useful in tailoring one's weapons set to meet the specific challenges of the various DoN opponents.

It took me awhile to see their value, so I thought I'd just mention it.

Finding the Snow Beast is far & away harder than beating the Snow Beast. In my excitement at having found him, I fought him straight away: no research on his weapons, no special defenses for his icon types, nothing -- and beat him on the second try.

My pet's stats: HP: 306/Str: 250/Def: 255 --- weapons used: Snowglobe Staff/Greater Healing Scroll/BoD/Honey Potion/Downsize!/Goo Blaster/and a couple not-so-useful reflectors as the SB's weapons have a good, broad icon variety).

I was actually anticipating much more training and weaponry upgrading being required to get through the 17 DoN missions. As things now stand, once you find the Snow Beast you're basically done with DoN. It seems somewhat perverse actually, that the hardest part of DoN is finding not fighting the oppopnents?! Who knew!?

yes, training with codestones is faster than with kitchen quests
howerver, kitchen quests is a MUST if you plan on training and you want to use something in addition to the lab
that is if you only own one pet, of course
training having only 1 pet is by far the best way to get your stats up relatively quickly at a low cost
if you decide to train several codestone courses per day on top of the k-quests, don't be surprised if you're spending 200k+ per DAY on training
if you do only k-quests, 10 per day, you can probably gain around 90 stats per month, which I think is fairly good, especially for the cost
as for scarab ring, it can definetely be a good defensive item if the 1-p opponent deals a lot of physical icons
you also need to learn burrow and sink (and drain life) if you don't have them already
those 2 are a must in 1-p battling

I have three pets, but every single Kitchen Quest I've done and gotten stats as prizes, it goes to my battle pet (active pet). And also, so far, I've done 10 Kitchen Quests per day and have only gotten 1 stat per day. The ones I got stats from were the more expensive quests though... I'm not sure if I want to continue doing the Kitchen Quest. I'd go bankrupt if I spend more than 200K per day on training...

For me, Kitchen Quests are great as an additional or supplementary form of training. For awhile I was doing 10 KQs everyday. I wanted to get to the 250 boost asap. However, doing 10 KQ's a day was expensive because to do the maximum possible I sometimes needed to do a more expensive (say 10-20k) Quest or I wouldn't be able to get all 10 done in a 1 day period. Plus there's the reality that "buying" 10 KQs everyday, even relatively cheap ones, adds up. But now, I only do a KQ if buying all the items costs less than 3-4k. Somedays there are none for anywhere near this amount and other days there are several. I only get a few stats a week this way, but they cost only 3-4k! The Training School costs me about 32K (7 codestones) and takes 18 hours. So, by comparison, the KQs rock.

For you, with your somewhat uneven stats, the KQs offer a good training opportunity. It would be better if you had only 1 pet -- trust me, the stats you get as prizes won't keep going to your active pet all the time -- but if you're not in a rush, and don't accept the high cost Quests, it doesn't really matter. You may not get a stat everyday, but you will get them. And, doing the low cost KQs doesn't prevent you from pursuing any other types of training you might choose to do.

yeah, I meant Winged Scarab, not the ring
as for having 3 pets, do you really need the other 2 pets? can you put them on a side account? that would really help with your training
as for k-quests, you will obviously have bad days (I also got some days of 1 stat) but yuo will get good days as well
for the 3000 or so k-quests I have recorded, I've been getting about 35% stats (hp, str, def, lvl, agility)
so I'd say k-quests are definetely the way to go IF you have 1 pet (with 3 pets, on average, they will all get 1/3 of the stats, they do not all go to the active pet or anything, you were just lucky)

Just buy one. Don't replace because sometimes SSP do only 8 icons against some 1p opponents.
