*sigh* Another "Please give advice on my set/next purchase" Thread
OK...I finally got the BGC avatar out of the way so I have all my NPs free to do with what I want.

Pet: ninjaekaj
Level: 128
HP: 325/325
Strength : (181)
Defence : (56)

I am currently training Level so I can start training my defense. Zapping+TT scratchs+KQ

I like 2P but would like to be able to perform well in 1P when war/plots come around.

My current set:
Greater Healing Scroll
Honey Potion
Goo Blaster
Sword of Apocalypse
Patched Magic Hat
Snowglobe Staff

Looking to spend around 6mill.

What should I do to my set? AND in yalls opinion what goal should I set for training that you feel I would get the most satisfaction out of battling.
ie. 500HP, 250 strength, 250 defense etc....

I dont really have plans or ambitions to try and make this pet the strongest in Neopia. Just a nice pet that can hold his own and maybe win a few trophies or such here and there.

Thanks for any and all input!

The two most important weapons in your set (the healer and freezer) would be the first to go. Since you said you are training level to get your defence back up, I would assume that you stopped labbing?

If so, save up a little more, morph that pet into a species that comes with a cheap species healer eg gelert and purchase yourself a H4000 Helmet. Of course there is also the option of being a Lenny (if you are patient enough with finding the healer).

Your Patched Magic Hat is redundant to you for now. You don't have the defence to be able to utilise it fully. So keep that in your SDB and fill in that empty slot with Downsize!, which is once per battle, but doesn't get affected by your lack of defence boost.

Good luck!

Lots of people put their good weapons in their first slot, whether intentionally or by accident. Purple Sticky Hand is your choice to steal that weapon in 2-player. You can choose to morph your pet to a Uni for the Lucky Uni Charm which heals 50% of your max health. Plus, if the lab changes your species, a Uni Morphing Potion is not too expensive. You can now purchase a Bow of Destiny and Wand of Reality after selling the Goo Blaster. Your new set:

Purple Sticky Hand
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll
Snowglobe Staff
Honey Potion
Sword of Apocalypse
Bow of Destiny
Wand of Reality

I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties.

I actually have a Purple Sticky Hand, but some criticized me for it saying it was a wasted slot on 2P battles. I intend to keep labbing until I reach a respectible HP or a uber cool species/color. I am just keeping up with the negatives (level and defense) by KQ and TT scratchs and training

*I have 14mill+ available to spend, not counting my stocks and hoards...I just dont want to spend it all on weapons at this point. The 6mill is NOT set in absolute stone, I am flexible*

That's a lot better then.

The stealer is NOT a waste of space. I know for a fact that I've stolen a Honey Potion and Bow of Destiny before, which helped me significantly on my victory. If you want to count waste of space, the non-100% freezers are DEFINITELY a waste of space. It can take you forever just to try and freeze your opponent, and you might have already lost the battle before being able to freeze your opponent.

If you have more than 14 million Neopoints to spend, you can replace Honey Potion or Sword of Apocalypse with Ghostkerbomb. You can then also replace Snowglobe Staff with H4000 Helmet just so you don't have to keep trying and trying to freeze. The H4000 Helmet and then Honey Potion+Ghostkerbomb+Berzerk Attack will definitely decrease your opponent's health by a lot, especially with your strength at 181. If you are willing to spend more than 14 million, you can sell Honey Potion and get a Rainbow Clockwork Grundo for a superb bombing effect, though Honey Potion may suffice.

I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties.

I agree with CadaverGrey: you need a 100% freezer, especially in 2-player battling (and it will make 1-player battling less frustrating, too). You have the funds for it, so that should be your first priority -- H4000 Helmet and Freezing Potion are close in price now, so pick either one.

You also need a good healer -- that healing scroll doesn't even come close to cutting it once you have that many hit points. The faerie ability regeneration (or restore or healing vapour) helps, but still isn't enough. You lab, so morphing to one of the species with a nice 50% healer is probably out. I do like to suggest the Lucky Uni Charm for labbers, though, IF you can get it for a reasonable price (or find one in the first place), because Green Uni Morphing Potions are only 20k a pop when the lab changes your species. Other than the species healers, there's pretty much just Bag of Healing Dust (Ice Scorchstone is a waste of NP, in my opinion, and Crisp Blue Tunic is expensive and best for 2-player).

And with those, I've already gone way over your budget, so I won't comment on weapons, other than to say that the blaster should definitely go, and your next real step up is to Wand of Reality and/or Bow of Destiny, as mentioned. Toss a cheap Downsize! in there, too; there's no reason you shouldn't have one. And Winged Scarab is always a consideration for someone with low defence, at least until you train it up (good for you for doing so, by the way). Smile

I'm going to echo the advice here. If you've got 6 mil for your set, get a h4000 helmet. Freezing really is that important.

As an alternate defensive option to replace your patched magic hat, consider Winged Scarab, the nearly-full physical block can be very helpful to lab pets, and you may still be able to afford one after buying a 100% freezer.

And while I have personally stolen Ghostkershield, Portable Kiln, Thyoras Tear and Leaded Elemental Vial in the last 2p tournament I fought in, I still think that purple sticky hand is questionable for 2p as it can easily waste multiple turns without having any effect (not even the couple icons that the non-100% frost cannons do). For stealing, you'll be a lot better off waiting for the lab and k-quests to bump your move over 200, which probably is not long judging from your other stats and going with a Heavy Robe of Thievery to get a guaranteed steal.

OK...Buy a 100% freezer, get a winged scarab and a downsize...figure out a better healer

Why get rid of the Goo Blaster? It does 11 constant. Isn't that pretty decent for my current stats?

I also like the Heavy Robe of Thievery idea. My agility is at like 190 or so...I will start shopping for one.

Also...any comments on my training goal? What would be a good place to stop training that is reasonably attainable and I will get the most enjoyment out of my league level.

RE: *sigh* Another "Please give advice on my set/next purchase" Thread
I suggested you ditch the blaster for two reasons: one, it deals fairly common icons that are easy to block (for example, Leaf Shield entirely blocks it), and two, its price is inflated right now due to Neopets TCG discontinuation rumors, so you could sell for more than it's "worth" and maybe upgrade to a 13-iconer. (That second reason, however, could be a reason to hang on to it -- if the rumors are true and no more enter the economy, the price will probably rise in the future.)

As for training... I'm not sure. You mentioned the 250 boosts in your first post -- I'm at the 250 boosts/league 11 at NCW right now, which is a nice level for me (I'm deliberately sitting here until I build up my set and get more 2-player experience). It's a level where that robe would be useful. At the 250 boosts, you would see weapons like SoS, PCC, Ghostkerbomb and Ghostkershield, though, so you may be outmatched until you make a few upgrades. You're probably at the best boost for your set right now (get defence up to 125, though), but try out 200 and see what you think.

Thanks. Bought the Heavy Robe of Thievery last night for 250K. Bought Downsize!

Shopping for a Winged Scarab and H4K or a F-Pot. Is the couple extra icons the Fpot does worth 400K extra?

I think I will hang on the Blaster and just buy a 13 iconer, probably BoD.

If I can just rs a Bag of Healing Dust I will be ok. lol

*edit* Bought a Freezing Potion today for 6.38. Still shopping for the Scarab and a 13 iconer.*edit*

That all sounds good -- decent price on the f-pot (I use f-pot myself and really like it. The two extra icons don't make much of a difference, but... okay, I mostly just prefer it over H4K because it's prettier. Sometimes I'm such a girl Wink). Now you just need a good healer, so good luck rsing the healing dust. Smile
