RE: New Set
1. Feed your pet, it can't battle on an empty stomach.
![]() 2. For 110k the most cost-effective thing you can do is train to the 35 boost in both Strength and defense. That will cost you about 83,000 with current dubloon prices, and it will increase the damage you deal and defend by 20% on ALL of your weapons. 3. But since nobody who asks for my advice ever listens to me about training, here's what I have to say about your set: The biggest flaw is that you only have 7 items, there's no reason for that, get a Downsize! or start using Snow Mudballs or get a another 6+ icon offensive multiuse weapon for icon diversity, just do something to take full advantage of all 8 slots. At your current stats, Blue Scorchstone's overhealing is probably still just a mite better than Greater Healing Scroll's additional healing, but it's pretty close at your HP. I hate to say it, but Snowglobe Staff's increased chance of freezing makes it a much better Freezer than Green Frost Cannon, of course you should be saving towards a Black or Rainbow Frost Cannon and eventually a 100% freezer. Leaf Shield is solid, but you might also consider the alternatives Shiny Shoal Shell Shield, Patched Magic Hat and Sophies Magic Hat (provided the price continues to fall) Scarab Ring is crazy-go-nuts good, in fact you could do a lot worse than adding a 2nd one to fill out your 8th slot The Purple Sticky Hand isn't bad, but it's not really competitive either. I don't recommend using it in 2player unless you are facing someone from whom you might steal vastly superior weapons. You should keep it, but my advice is tuck it away in your SDB except when fighting those people or the 1p challengers with useful stealable weapons. As for your main offensive weapons, both Enchanted Wooden Bow and Tyrannian Lupe Tooth are very solid value weapons and they stack icons to give you a chance of overruning shields. Unfortunately both lose in match ups against the Scarab Ring, so your current set can be beat by someone wielding Dual Scarab rings. That's going to be a bit of a problem, and you should consider getting a Jade Staff, Tooth of Terrask or even the much-maligned Rusty Lamppost as a counter for scarab rings. Alternately you could upgrade the Enchanted Wooden Bow to a 9-iconer such as Ice Club, Stone Club or Psellias Fighting Fan for within your budget. Of course, all of those only draw when matched up against a scarab ring, so you'll probably still want one of the countermeasures I mentioned above even if you do that. "Siggy? whats the real name of the item? *sigh* im new to this whole battledome items....so, sorry! " |

RE: New Set
Charles, you hurt yourself by passing Level 20 before getting your stats to just shy of 40. I'm assuming you don't have the Lab yet, and won't be able to afford it easily? Taking that route right now would save you some money if it could knock your Level back down. I'm doubting that's an option for you, but correct me if I'm wrong.
Are you planning on doing Two Player in the future, or even considering it? That would change my advice to you by a bit, but Rabit covered suggestions for that, so I'll go back to the One Player route. Training to 35 Strength will be your next training step, and assuming the Lab's not an option, you should work on that. I recommend switching out your Enchanted Wooden Bow for Earth Faerie Slingshot (to get rid of the fractionals and consolidate the icon types). Ice Club would be the general upgrade to nine-icons. Likewise, so long as you're doing One Player, switching the Tyrannian Lupe Tooth for a second Ice Club to get rid of the fractional would be a good idea. Downsize!, as Rabid said, is an affordable consideration, and would fill your eighth slot (or replace the Purple Sticky Hand, since that's a far more situational item that doesn't always need to be in your set) nicely. A third nine-iconer would be worthwhile for the sake of variety in your constant's icons, but that depends entirely on which Opponents you're going up against and whether they block the icons of whichever weapons you decide to go with. Training is going to be your best bet overall right now. If you can get the Lab, and get lucky enough that it knocks your Level, that'll save you some cash in training costs. My Digimon fanfic "Illusory Memories" is complete: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3798268/1/Illusory_Memories "If the Spectres have resurfaced, this is no longer a game between us and the Phoenixes. We need to have humanity by the throat before the Spectres alert the humans to our presence." One Player High Score Charts Achieved: 5 / 59 (Holding Two) |

RE: New Set
As for losing levels, there's also Von Roo's Deadly Dice, which you can try if you're online from midnight to 1 am NST. It is random, but it has worked for me in the past when I wanted to lose levels to train more cheaply.
Quote:...switching the Tyrannian Lupe Tooth for a second Ice Club to get rid of the fractional would be a good idea. I have to quibble with this here. At the 20 boost, the difference between 8.66 and 9.0 icons is only 0.416 base damage. It won't even be full point when both battlers berserk. And while every point really does matter, there's currently a 24k np price difference between the two weapons, and working within a budget of 110k, that is far to much to spend for a fractional upgrade.
