Apparently you do at reading the rest of the thread, too. Toungue Armi posted http://www.serebii.net/index2.shtml.

RE: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Differences between the two seem to be merely two evolution lines and the legendary, seeing as the others can be traded in from my earlier games. So it's really a matter of whether you want Rampardos' ridiculous attack or Bastiodon's defences. The former looks much cooler and is far more suited to battling, given that the latter's typing will see it massacred by Eathquake (Garchomp, anyone?). But just to play devil's advocate, I'll be getting Pearl and sticking said Bastiodon into my first DP team. Hopefully it'll carry the element of surprise, if nothing else. Wink

Oh and just to burst the above poster's bubble, DS emulation is eons away from full functionality. Pokemon is well worth paying any price for, anyway. XD

Wait, what? I thought that it was possible to get all five available legendarys in both Gold and Silver version, it was just that the way to get Ho-oh and Lugia differed between the versions.

Maybe, but in Ruby/Sapphire it's definitely that way.

RE: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Tch...I can easily say if you look at each version by exclusives, pearl is the inferior one here.
But looking at the bright side, how many people want diamond, getting pearl is the better idea cause you'll have better trade fodder,t hen Diamond people.

I'm seriously trading my fossil pokemon in pearl for the diamond one cause of an inside joke with my best friend.
Man, why did Pearl have to get the sucky pokemon? Least Golduck and Yanma are in both versions.

Anyone wanting the stylus promo that wa son TV? I'm preordering tomarrow and hoping I get one...cause I'm a dork and I want a pokemon stylus as I play my Naruto DS import. How the heck will it fit in my DS Lite though...

RE: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
If the option of trading in Pokemon from earlier versions is unavailable, then the fact that Pearl gets Mence is enough to make it not 'sucky', if you asked me. Then again, it more or less balances off the fact that you get Tar on Diamond. Meh... Houndoom needs more love.

And regarding the issue of version-exclusive legendaries, it was not possible to obtain Lugia in Gold and likewise for Ho-oh in Silver, since in each game you would receive the specific wing that corresponded to the legendary. It was in Crystal that you could get both. The same went for RS, where Emerald was the game where you could pick up both Groudon and Kyogre. So if it's legendaries you're after, then the best option would be to save your money and wait for the third game in the 4th Generation to come out. Pokemon Amethyst? Opal? XD

RE: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
No, it WAS possible to get the opposite legendary. Yes, you would get the wing that corresponds with your game after completing that one quest, but a seemingly random NPC in Pewter City would give you the other.

Also, I too wonder about this stylus promo.

RE: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Ah, I stand corrected then. Smile Said NPC is also the one that gives you the Silver Wing in Crystal. The fact that he existed in the previous versions must have slipped my mind.
