It's worth it if you play in official pokemon tournaments because they only allow pokemon under level 50. Dragonair evolves into Dragonite at level 55, so a regular Dragonite would be unusable in the tourneys. If you just play casually, it would be pretty much worthless. Otherwise, it would be decent in tournaments and it would also have a nice trade value.
