RE: Weapon Origin Update
Isn't that information stored for 95%+ of this on neoitems.net? With the only real exceptions I can recall being the plot prizes/advent/etc still have their description including the "other" source (Battle Magic as opposed to the Advent, etc)?

RE: Weapon Origin Update
You're probably right, I don't frequent neoitems.net
Anyways, we would still want that information here, as the more information related to weapons that we can add, the better, and some people may not know of that site. If you'd like to host werewolf, please PM me. |

RE: Weapon Origin Update
Mike Wrote:You're probably right, I don't frequent neoitems.netMy point was for one of you to head over there and go through each list, seeing as you can select each Shop and then go through their entire list. It seems like a bit more work would be involved for me (an extra person) to transcribe the list over here. But I'll see if I can get the time today before someone else does. Edit: As I'm doing some of this from memory, I may have shuffled one of the Altador Dailies into the Altadorian Armour. Also, I hope you don't mind my slightly altered format (it's easier on me for the sake of repeated copy/paste). Graph to Shattered: I'm sorry, I accidentally destroyed some of your list, as I went over the char limit. You might want to do a new post. o__o My Digimon fanfic "Illusory Memories" is complete: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3798268/1/Illusory_Memories "If the Spectres have resurfaced, this is no longer a game between us and the Phoenixes. RE: Weapon Origin Update
I was unaware of that neoitems function. Thank you Shattered
![]() Yes, this method does involve a bit more work. If you don't have the free time, IDB is in no way forcing anyone to get the data. The Staff could do it all ourselves, but there is only so many of us. We are all busy with real life (along with things that will "revive" IDB ), so we could use all the help we can get.____ Lots of weapons ![]() Altadorian Armour=Illustrious Armoury Shop |

RE: Weapon Origin Update
I think the best thing to do is to make it updateable by the staff/raters. When a weird item comes along with unknown or weird origin (as in, not from any of the shops), then they should just put in the information. However, I don't think it's necessary to systematically go through and update the origins of commonplace weapons.

However, I don't think it's necessary to systematically go through and update the origins of commonplace weapons.I'm going to disagree (and not just because I'm compiling the list, ). Even though some Items are rather obvious (the Desert and Haunted set of weapons), I think this would be beneficial to people that have the patience to attempt to restock a rare weapon, or that want to form a Gallery from a certain Shop. If half the Raters weren't already aware of NeoItems, it's quite possible other battlers aren't, either, and IDB may be their only source.Kage, do you guys have the function automatically there when you click to view the Items through the Javascript link? If so, I suppose you're right. It seemed awkward to me since not all the rest of the HTML is there (Rater Avatars being the most noticeable). Also, some of these Items aren't showing up in the IDB. With some of the potions I can see why, but there are a few random Scrolls (erm, I think it was one or more of the Brightvale Scrolls) aren't listed when the rest are, which seems odd. Missed a few, maybe? Anyway, I've got about seven more minutes to work on this before I have to take care of other things. If someone wants to start going through the Battle/Defense Magic lists (as well as their Advent sublists), I don't plan to tackle those personally until the end. RE: Weapon Origin Update
TOSO, it's true that not many people will care about the origins of commonplace weapons. However, like Mike said, IDB focuses on getting the most complete and comprehensive weapons database. Getting the origin data will help us in that goal.
Shattered: No we don't. It would be slightly easier (for Raters) if you did a direct link with Code: Weapon NameIt's only a minor inconvenience, don't worry too much about it. Are you sure the potions that aren't listed are actually weapons? Many potions can't actually be equipped. |

kagemucha Wrote:Are you sure the potions that aren't listed are actually weapons? Many potions can't actually be equipped.Several of the healing potions can't be equipped either, but IDB still includes them. Do what you want with them. Getting the links into url format would be a pain, and I don't have the time at the moment to do it. I'm trying to get the last three(?) sets of weapons up now that won't take long to put up, after which I need to see about getting my laptop fixed today. Edit: Anyhow, there's the preliminary list, excluding the three Shops mentioned that will triple (or quadruple, maybe) the length of the list. I may or may not have missed a Shop in there. An Item or two that needs to be under a more specific category may have gone overlooked. Etc, etc, other disclaimers are there as you scroll down through my insanity. I'll be back sometime tonight, probably.
