Quote:The cheapest BoHD on the Trading Post is 9m Don't pay that unless there's a war coming. With patience and haggling you can find them for under 8 million. You might also want to try restocking in Magical Marvels to see if you can get lucky and snag one that way. RE: Great Minds of iDB, please help w/Set Advice!
Okay, both Vermont & Rabid have given me plenty to consider -- many thanks. What I think I've learned is:
1) Upgrade my healer first. At the moment I see the Bag of Healing Dust as the best, though imperfect, first choice. I'll have a couple months to mull this over as I save up nps. 2) Make use of my defense with dual duty weapons as opposed to pure sheilds. 3) Learn about utility weapons and build a set of full blockers and effective reflectors. [Thanks Heiper for the proper names] 4) Keep training! That really goes without saying, at least to me. I'm a big believer in training. I last came here for set advice in November 06 when I had only recently hit the 125 boost and had a stone club as my most powerful weapon! My plan then was to stop training and build up my bd set. That didn't happen as I just kept training. But now with training costing more & the weapons I need to upgrade costing more, something has to give at least a little. So, I will keep doing all the free stuff and become really selective cost-wise on my k-quests. I know I ought to get rid of my second pet, but its like my species, I made choices before I even knew what the Battle Dome was and, well, while my set-up is not ideal, it is what it is ![]() Thanks again for your time and your help. . . . then man invented Boing & anti-Boing. . . |

[I couldn't find the stats on the Yooyu Players Sling and the Yooyu Keepers Chest Guard in the database?] The names of these weapons are Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard and Yooyuball Player Sling I swear, a digital time-warp ate my signature |

RE: Great Minds of iDB, please help w/Set Advice!
im sorry about the pricing because the last time i seem the lucky robots was cheaper and now that im thinking the idea of buying jade elixirs if you cant afford a full healer like LEV is like buy thick smoke bomb if you cant aford a TT, this is good?
What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay! So long and goodnight, So long and goodnight! |

RE: Great Minds of iDB, please help w/Set Advice!
I think that's he idea that was being suggested. For most of us who don't have nps enough to buy a T-Tear, and who don't fight multiple battles 365 days a year, the Thick Smoke Bomb is a good alternative for IMPORTANT battles. Note that you do lose a lot of nps by using one-use items, be they healers or freezers. The Jade Elixir and Lucky Robots Foot are both healing alternatives for IMPORTANT battles. I believe rabid did the math regarding the interest of a multi-use full healer price paying for the Jade Elixirs, and in a previous post a long time ago, I did it for the T-Tear. As a general guideline, I'd say you should only look at blowing nps on a single-use item if it's for an IMPORTANT battle, and the single use item does something that you're unable to do, or afford to do with your regular battleset items, and that whatever that "something" is (healing, freezing, etc.), that it's important enough to effect the outcome of a battle. If it doesn't meet those criteria, you're most likely wasting nps.

RE: Great Minds of iDB, please help w/Set Advice!
Actually I was looking at Jade Elixirs vs. the non-species 50% healer.
For full healers it's a lot simpler. Don't shell out for a LEV unless you battle more than twice a day on average and plan to do so for the next 5 years. Seriously, if I had used a Jade Elixir or Lucky Robot's Foot in every single battle I ever fought I still would not have paid the amount of neopoints Leaded Elemental Vial sells for. That'll teach me for not looking back on the thread, but relying on my faulty memory. But yeah, your point is valid regardless, and the same holds true for the T-Tear, which I'd love to "find on the floor", but at current prices isn't something that I'd have a great desire to purchase even if I had that kind of bankroll.
