Should I have this weapon???
Weapons :
Stats : I'm thinking , should I use a Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard? (Only 700k on TP) If I do , which weapon should I drop out? Hobans Hat? Edit : Anyway I'll wait for the plot prize. Just assume there's no plot prize now. Edit : I do 1p and 2p Chinese stock guide : http://www.neopets.com/~cleverjohn |

RE: Should I have this weapon???
Have you considered dropping the HRT? At mid-level battling, there aren't many battlers who will put good weapons in the stealing slot, nor do they steal often. I'd suggest you go for a hard hitter since you have plenty of dual-duties. Go for a WOR or BOD to replace the HRT.
Next step would be to get a 100% freezer. |

RE: Should I have this weapon???
I think silver_arctic1 is on to something. When I look at your set, I see you have a good healer, (almost) a great stealer, excellent #3 and #4 slot weapons in dual duties (Hobans Hat and Air Faerie Crown), a modestly adequate freezer, a decent defensive item (Downsize!), and an adequate bomb. You also have the useful Golden Compass. What you don't have is any offensive attack weapon for the #1 or #2 slots in your battleset that would scare me if I were up against you. What you need isn't another defensive item, but some offense for the top of your battleset. If you're rich enough to afford it, I'd keep the HRT for situational use, but if you can't, I'd move to a purple sticky hand (by the way, check the agility you need to USE that Heavy Robe of Thievery), and use the nps toward buying some offensive firepower. I like your pet's balanced stats, and the weapons you have aren't bad items. You just don't need a defender, you need something that will SCARE me if I fight you. Start saving ;-D

RE: Should I have this weapon???
Contrary to what sliver_arctic said, I would keep the HRoT. I find it very helpful in both 1-P and 2-P with its 100% effectiveness.
Why exactly do you a Yooyuball Keepers Chest Guard? You already receive both water+dark defense from your dual-duties. The only thing good about the shield is the all-physical defense? But really, there aren't any weapons that focus entirely on Physical. Lots of weapons have it, but only a portion of the weapon are physical icons. If you REALLY need physical defense, you might want to look into a winged scarab. I'm not sure about its price, but it should still be relatively cheap. I wouldn't get the chest guard. |

RE: Should I have this weapon???
Are you a 1p battler or 2p? If your 2p, I would forget the Chest Guard. If your a 1p battler however, it would probably be a good idea. Physical is fairly common and a full blocker for anywhere under a mil is a good deal. An alternative would be a Winged Scarab, which cost 300k (Chest Guard is 600k).

RE: Should I have this weapon???
I do 1p and 2p (Just edited)
Okay I will forget the chest guard , considering that I've got a lot of defense already. I had ever thought about if I need a powerful offensive constant. As some of you wrote , I will start saving up for a 13 iconer (Probably BoD since I already did too much light) . But which weapon should I replace with? Wilt always said people put good weapons in their #1 slot since they are careless. So probably HRoT has its great use? Also I want to upgrade my GoC to MoC . It's for sure I think. RE: Should I have this weapon???
The Mask of Coltzan is a FINE weapon, and gives you decent defense in two areas (earth and dark), but if you're going to look in that price range, think about the Ring of the Lost (full dark blocker) and if you still have nps left over, Cloudy Wand of Storms for the earth defense in a dual duty.
As for what to replace, in one-player it'll be obvious based on what a particular opponent has for weapons. If for example he doesn't have any light attacking weapons (or not enough light attack to worry about), sub out the Air Faerie Crown. In general, the Downsize! is the item I'd kick out though, but with the reminder that Downsize! CAN be useful and it's cheap enough that it can be retained in the safe deposit box for "situational use". In my view a typical battleset will have a healer and a freezer (slots based on set construction concept #6 and #7) with a situational item (stealer, Downsize, reflector, shield in the #8 slot). The #1 and #2 positions are the primary offensive weapon slots, while the #3 and #4 slots should offer something with enough offense to be rotated in with the #1 and #2 items, and some defense. If you train defense, one or two dual duties here would qualify. The #5 slot would be either an additional dual duty, a strong shield, or your bomb, with whatever isn't used in the #5 slot, moving down for consideration for the #8 slot. Hypathetical example might be the following set (#1 & #2 slots - Bow of Destiny, Wand of Reality, #3 & #4, Mask of Coltzan & Air Faerie Crown), #5 Rainbow Clockwork Grundo, #6 100% Freezer, #7 at least 50% healer, #8 - situational based on opponent if one-player, or battle style if two-player. You can pretend to care, but you can't pretend to BE THERE! |

RE: Should I have this weapon???
I really love dual-duties
![]() 2p set # 1 Bow of Destiny # 2 Mask of Coltzan ( I like it more than RoTL for the earth defense )# 3 Hobans Hat (Should I drop this? There's not much water-based weapons , then I can replace this with a WoR?) # 4 Air Faerie Crown # 5 Honey Potion # 6 Black Frost Cannon # 7 Kacheek Life Potion # 8 Downsize! / HRoT 1p set (Rotate weapons around 2p set myself )

RE: Should I have this weapon???
Well, for the level of fighting that you're at, that battleset would scare me a whole lot more than what you started out with. For the level, you have a good weapon in the #1 slot, I'd pop Hobans Hat to the #2 spot (only for discussion sake) as it has more offense, which isn't overpowering, but the water defense can be helpful, and you're VERY solid in the #3 and #4 positions with the Mask of Coltzan (actually a better weapon than Hobans Hat of course), and the Air Faerie Crown. The Honey Potion is adequate in the #5 slot, the Black Frost Cannon in the #6 slot becomes the next area for upgrade, as your freezer will now be sub-par to the rest of your set, assuming you have a Kacheek, the healer in #7 is fine, and you have two useful options for the #8 slot. I'd also pick up a CHEAP Scarab Ring as an option there as against some one player opponents, you'll find it VERY useful and its too cheap not to have on hand.
Would I drop Hobans Hat? NOPE The idea is to build a good foundation (the set above is a GOOD start) and then improve it as you go along. The problem isn't that you have Hobans Hat (it's a good weapon), but that you have more pressing needs (upgrade of freezer and removal of all slot #8 options to situational use only when you've saved enough to get that Wand of Reality into your lineup WITH the Hobans Hat ;-D Good luck - start saving!
