Help reducing lag?
I get so much lag I just die if I try to attack things, since my computer can't keep up.

I have graphics all the way down, sound effects and background music muted, logged off AIM, MSN and iTuns closed and all that stuff. And I Just lag beyond control. D=

This even happens if I'm alone on a map. Nothing else, I even put my piggy away to reduce it even less, but I still can't even see whaqt I'm doing.

Soooo what can I do? (Besides get a new computer)

RE: Help reducing lag?
Uhh...can you tell us about your computer? No matter what you do, MS is not going to run well on a really really bad computer.

Any other important specs I missed?

RE: Help reducing lag?
If you lag THAT badly, theres not much we can do. It's most likely 2 things: your internet connection is SUPER slow or #2 your computer isn't good enough to run MS. It's most likely #2, as I can play MS almost perfectly with 56k. Theres a min. requirements section somewhere on mapleglobal.com, so check it out.

To reduce lag, I often minimized the MapleStory screen using DxWind. However, I don't think it will do much considering the crazy conditions you mentioned... =/

You need a processor upgrade, stat.

What kind of video card do you have?

RE: Help reducing lag?
I meet the min requirements on the website exactly Toungue

Do you think it's Ant Tunnel maybe? when I trained outside of Kerning I didn't get too much lag, but ant tunnel is a lot.

I haven't tried anywhere else recently though =/ I will tomarrow I guess.

What kind of video card do you have?

Graphics card would probably play a role. If you lag when you're alone on a map after it's already loaded, it's your computer, not your connection.

Isn't "DxWind" kinda hack software or something? I'm not quite sure what you mean...

I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties.

RE: Help reducing lag?
DxWind is advertised on a stickyed topic in the Tech Forums over at Sleepywood.

Some people think it's a "hack" since MS is "suppose" to be run in full screen, and any other way is an unfair advantage. But w/e. Wizet won't ban you if you have DxWind. They won't even know.

RE: Help reducing lag?
So you mean with DxWind I can run Maple Story in another screen size?  That'll be great.

Where can I download it and how do I use it? Do I download and then just activate it somehow or do I have to open the file while Maple Story is loading?

I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties.

RE: Help reducing lag?
DXWnd also kinda makes the lag worse.
