good defensive weapons for mid level battler
hey all.... i've been upgrading my set like crazy. takin' that big step up from 6 iconers to 8-9 iconers. well, I got me a enchaned wooden bow, and i'm currently trying to get an ice club for 90,000 at the trading post, and i'm wondering if I should spend a bit on defence?
i've still got my good ol' scarab ring, jade staff, shiny shoal shell shied, and patched magic hat, and, of course, downsize, and lesser healing scroll for healing. soooo.... i'm wondering where I should go from here with my dual duties, pure defenders and healers? my bori's defence is currently higher than strength, and I like it that way IMPO, so defence plays a big role in my battles. if you need more info, he's a bori, S: 24 D: 26 and HP: 30, I make about 10,000 NP a day. I use 1 player mos tof the time, but I have occasional friendly bouts with neofriends moehog. I don't use the lab, too.. experimental for me. just codestones and dubloons.

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
you can sell the PMH and get a mystical white cloak so that you can defend against every icon

well, that first post's URL didn't come through, and I already have dark, air, and light defence, and doesn't ultrasteel helmet do the same thing at a lower price?

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
I think you should really consider upping your stats. It's proven that higher stats are better for 1p battlers than better weapons.
I don't like shields and non-100% freezers... Challenge Swift_Rev14_6 if you are a 55 boost pet lookin for a fight (no 100% freeze ofcourse) BTW, 2p FTW! |

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
hey, I have been doing just that. he's been going up 5 stats a day. I just want to know of any good mid level defensive weapons. also, i've been pondering over getting a freezing scroll. do you think it's worth the breaking risk?

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
I normally use Scroll of Freezing for 2-player battles only. If you use it for both 1-player and 2-player, you'll be dealing out 80K a day if you battle 5 times per day. If you do get one, I suggest only using it for 2-player. With 1-player, you can just get a percentage freezer and withdraw everytime it doesn't freeze.
I'm not a fan of non-100% freezers or dual-duties. |

I am occasionally challenged for a 2 player battle, so i might get one if one of my NF challenges me soon. |

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
I really don't think Scroll of Freezing is worth it, unless your 2P battler definately has a freezer, and even then you can always ask for a no freeze match, those are often more fun anyways.
I don't know if you count these as "mid level" but [ibd]Air Faerie Crown[/ibd] and [ibd]Mask of Coltzan[/idb] are some of my favourite weapons. There are alot of 9 iconers that deal light, dark, or both. And they continue to defend against higher weapons like [ibd]Wand of Reality[/idb], Bow of Destiny, even takes a chunk out of Sword of Skarsden and Ghostkerbomb should you face them. What I really love about MoC in particular is if you can use it every turn (opponent can't block or reflect) you don't have to be scared of a suprise bomb, It'll take the bite out of Honey Potion and still return fire so if they use fierce of beserk they'lll regret it.

RE: good defensive weapons for mid level battler
hmmmm..... i'll try saving my money for that later, right now i'm focusing on things around 100,000. i'm not a rich player, and things like MOC and AFC will most likey always remain a far off dream to me, unless I get REALLY lucky and a darigan paintbrush magically appears before me or something.
