RE: downgraded weapons
I doubt it...no examples of upgrades come to mind. Unless you count the weapons like the Staff of Righteous Fury, where their fake icons got fixed.

RE: downgraded weapons
If they were downgraded, they were probably downgraded for a reason (however obscure). THerefore it's unlikely they would be upgraded again. Also a lot of people who bought them, had them downgraded and lost an investment, and sold them for much lower would complain at them once again being powerful and expensive.

RE: downgraded weapons
Not very likely, though I think it happened with the SOS long ago. That's the only example I can think of.

RE: downgraded weapons
I don't think any hints are usually given, unless it's just blatantly obvious a weapon needs to be changed. Like the Slumberberry Potion. I don't remember exactly what it started out as, but it was a permanently-breakable 2mil freezer that dealt damage. Kinda obvious SOMETHING had to change, there.

RE: downgraded weapons
Also, usually downgrades happen fairly soon after an item's release... when TNT suddenly realizes they released something a little too powerful for the rarity/price. Wink Sometimes they just change the rarity instead, or the HT price if it's available there (I think that happened with PCC, right?). Anyway, there's little chance of something like the NQII weapons (which have been out since 2004) getting downgraded.

I've never heard of an actual upgrade, though I wish they'd change some of the HT weapons. A lot of them don't do enough icons (or good enough icon types) to justify their prices now that TNT has changed the market with all the new 9-iconers, the TCG blasters, and the NQII 13-iconers. Fire and Ice Blade, for example, is too weak to even be a fancy HT weapon, and Amulet of Thilg (at 8.5 mil!) and all the Battle Dung (5 mil) are too expensive for 11 icons (the TCG blasters go for between 1-2 mil). There are many more examples.
