I believe aznknightfire was replying to a few other people (Zhu, Perplyone, Scythos, etc.) who mentioned the ghostkerchief a few posts back in this topic, Da_Bomb.
---

But I can take a crack at offering some advice on beating the brain tree mace (Assuming the Brain Tree has boosts of 1.5, because I honestly don't know).

>>>For the first couple of turns, I'd suggest using your snowglobe staff and using either the Tooth of Terask or the Leaf Shield for your second weapon.

I suggest the snowglobe staff because:
-1- when it attacks, the worst the brain tree mace can do is block 2 water icons, which still leaves 4 of your icons undefended, no matter what.
-2- if it gives you a yellow snowball, that'd be a great thing to couple with the illusen's earth postion for when he's frozen.
-3- if you do manage to freeze him, that gives you a major advantage over him. If you attack with Illuen's Earth Potion and Yellow Snowball and a fierce attack when he's frozen, you have the possibility of dealing up to 36 damage to him.

I suggest the Tooth of Terask because:
-1- like the snowglobe staff, the brain tree can only defend 2 of its 6 icons (the brain tree mace will never block any of those 3 air icons).
-2- the tooth defends dark, and the brain tree mace has 3 weapons that attack with dark (none of which defend the tooths icons)

If you fall behind in HP in the start, I suggest Leaf Shield because:
-1- earth and physical are frequently occuring attack icons in the Brain Tree's weapon lineup, and water is used sometimes to, so the leaf shield makes a great defense
-2- if used against the brain tree's strongest attack, you reduce his 10.6 icons to 6.6 icons

>>>If your snowglobe staff breaks early in the fight, I'd suggest using the scarab ring and tooth of terask.

I suggest the scarab ring because:
-1- The brain tree doesn't defend much water, icons both this wepaon and the tooth attack with.
-2- The scarab ring's defence compliments both the tooth of terask's and the leaf shield's defense well. The brain tree mace uses a substantial amound of fire icons as well as physical, something the scarab ring will make quick work of.

The timing of your heal and downsize lie in your judgement.
The main thing I'd suggest keeping an eye out for is light icons. The brain tree uses a lot of light icons (up to 5) just like earth (up to 5), dark (up to 4), physical (up to 4) and fire (up to 4), but unlike those other icons, you have no means of defending light attacks in your current set. So if this strategy doesn't work after a few tries, I'd suggest looking into light defense, though I've yielded few good alternatives in seraching IDB.

RE: 1p Challengers Help Thread
Can I get some help with Snowbeast?

My pet is a Tyrannian Lupe and I won't morph him, so please don't suggest that. I will buy lucky robots feet to use for a full heal if I have to. NP's not a big issue.

Level: will be 100 when I attempt this
Strength: will be 200
Defence: 38 (I've given up on training it)
HP: 190

Set:
Goo Blaster (the 11-icon one)
Ramtors Spellbook
Honey Potion
Ancient Lupe Wand (freezer)
Iron Lupe Sword (will replace with something better, if anyone has suggestions; it's pretty weak)
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll (will use Lucky Robots Foot if I need to)
Extra slot (currently holds Fire Muffin)

I also have sink, burrow, regeneration/restore, etc.

Thanks!

RE: 1p Challengers Help Thread
I just got Snowbeast - he's one tough opponent!  Took me awhile to beat him.

I suggest this combo:

1) diamond dust/fiery gaze + downsize + goo blaster

2) (frozen) honey potion + ancient lupe wand

3) (hopefully re-frozen) ramtors + goo blaster

That should kill him (I have 200 boost too, but instead of goo blaster/ramtors I have h4k + portable kiln) - he seems to heal with jade scorchstone a lot so healing won't really come into play here because he has much stronger weapons.
Question about Giant Chomby - what are the steps to beat him?

All abilities
HP: 340
Str: 200
Def: 27 =P

H4k
Greater Healing Scroll
Downsize
Scarab Ring
Portable Kiln
Purple Sticky Hand
Leaf Shield
Illusen Earth Potion

Do I absolutely need to upgrade to Honey Potion?  Or is there a way where I can beat him (I just want to make it to Mootix trophy)?

Thanks!

RE: 1p Challengers Help Thread
Thanks for the advice on Snowbeast! I actually beat him using this strategy:

Round 1: Goo Blaster, Downsize!, Drain Life
Round 2: Goo Blaster, freezer, burrow
Round 3: Honey Potion and Water Muffin.

I got lucky and he didn't get a chance to freeze me or heal with jade. I only froze him once... I hate using the double freeze. It takes way too long for it to work and I hate withdrawing.

Now I need advice on the giant chomby, too! My stats are a couple posts up.

Advice for the Brain Tree

Use mass earth weapons and/or air weapons, he blocks none of them
I found that spider on a string worked great against him. Make sure you have a leaf Shield when fighting him.

IS it possible to defeat giant ghostkerchief with 100hp and 85 boost?

Using the mass fire or mass physical strategy...

RE: 1p Challengers Help Thread
Anyone have a strategy for Kastraliss? Assuming my pet is even tough enough to beat him. My pet is level 100, with 200 strength, 200 HP, and really bad defense. I have all the main faerie abilities and my weapon set now is:

Wand of Reality
Goo Blaster
Honey Potion
Freezing Potion
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll (bah)
And two emply slots -- I tried double dryer and dual battle mirror, but they weren't much help (I was using both of those plus fiery gaze on my first turn in an attempt to get a double freeze, but it only worked once and he used PCC and his bomb + berserk and killed me in one hit anyway).

Phoenix Wrote:hmm... try this to double freeze then, downsize + double dryer + freezing ability (make sure you click downsize first) ?

It works (and I just got diamond dust, so I freeze more frequently), but it seems that every single time I freeze Kastraliss, no matter when it is during the battle (and whether I use fiery gaze/diamond dust or my freezing potion), he freezes me too. Bah.

ETA: Just got really lucky and beat him. I used WoR/Goo Blaster/Burrow first round, F-pot/Downsize!/Lupe Breath next, and then he had 184 HP left and was frozen. The most damage my HP and WoR can do to a frozen opponent is (I believe) 186, and luckily I got that good hit and finished him off. I had 26 HP left. Smile

I think the slug monster is probably out of my league.
