It currently does 6 icons. I'll send screenshots in a few (online college class signups opened up at the same time as the prizes, so I'm swamped).

I'm assuming it'll be upgraded soon Big Grin

I've tested both, as you can see from the first screenshot, it does totally block all physical damage, doesn't let any in, and it doesn't appear to block any other sort of icon. I'll keep checking, though.

Does anyone know how long TNT usualy takes to upgrade a weapon? And I currently have enough points to get it, so should I buy one or wait for a while?

It's not going to be upgraded any more, Neopika. You can buy one now if you want, it's pretty good.

Also, if you don't mind could you inform me on how this weapon is good? I think I'm only looking at it from a noob standpoint, it does only 6 icons Closedeyes

I was sorta expecting something like RotL, cuz I blew off the LD plot because I thought the prizes would be t-shirts and junk. And now that I saw the RotL as a prize I'm not ignoring another plot or event anymore for the chance of a great weapon as a prize.

Most likely it won't be cos it's already a powerful weapon as it is. Personally though, I don't see any big deal with it blocking all physical. Nice investment though. If you can afford it, get it before the price rise.

Well, for the neopets with a lot of Strength, it is pretty good. For a neopet with a low strength boost, it is not so good. The point is that you are still doing damage. If you were using a Winged Scarab, you wouldn't do any damage so it is a change. This kind of a weapon is good for those who have high defence because the Winged Scarab wouldn't be as useful for them.

There is a possibility that you could go up against someone with an Air Faerie Crown and a Ring of the Lost, which would make those icons useless if your opponent has enough defence. That would only be for 2-player battles so far, though.

Like CadaverGrey said, it would also be a good investment because it is a rare, retired plot prize. If you are lacking in neopoints, you can always grab a Yooyuball Keeper Chest Guard, instead. Although that wouldn't be as much of an investment, at least you will still have a full physical blocker.

Minor correction: You WILL be dealing damage. Winged Scarab attacks with three air icon (and defends 3 air as well as blocks your opponents physical attack, though not all).

And for that precise reason is why I feel that it's not a weapon worth its price. Even in 1 player, only a few opponents does mass physical.

I think the best way to decide is to ask yourself this: are looking at it as an investment or as a weapon? As an investment, the sling would fetch you a far more handsome price eventually. However, as a weapon, I personally rather go for the chest guard (cos I train my defence, heh.)

I love how people always say "well (insert random weapon that will defend some icons of the attack) will beat this", without looking at it logically at all. Yes, you block half of a 6 icon attack, while they block all physical (which, you must assume you are dealing enough of to make this weapon worth it for player one). Player 1 uses powerful weapon along with this, and out-averages you. Or just uses dual PCC and blows your silly AFC/RotL out of the water while you are guessing at which partial icon to block.
