I think this is the best place to ask this.

What are Sponsor Abilities, and how do you get them - if they're available at all?

On an old dormant account, I have 3 sponsor abilities - Improved Defend, Scorch, and Psychic Attack.??No idea how I got them though!

Sponsor abilities can no longer be gotten =( Not that they're euseful anyhow... they are all in terms of half icons.. not even full ones... >.< Anyhow, a list:

Improved Defend is nice, the other ones... eh.

if your lab ray breaks, the pet that was zaped with it gets the sponcer abilities I am told.

only the odds of the ray breaking are astronomical... lower then it raising defence.... *winks*

I'm pretty sure the victims of the broken Lab Ray only got Improved Defend, not any of the other abilities.

That, and sponsor abilities don't work like Faeries abilities - if your account has them, every pet on your account should have the ability, but only while they're on your account. If you abandon a pet, it'll lose the abilities, and if you adopt a new one, it'll gain them.

Wait, your lab ray can break? I've never heard this before.

I've only heard of it happening once, when people used their lab and it disappeared, and a misinformed staff member proceeded to tell all victims that you could only use the lab ray once before it vanished. Then, while they were fixing the glitch, people who lost their lab access were given Improved Defend rather than their map back.

I have those abilities.Improved defence is good.
And i've got them 2 or 3 years ago by signing to some old sponsor things, like those discount cards i suppose.

I have all the abilities on my main account except for Dark Shield. I signed up for that sponsor, but it didn't work...I then signed up with the same sponsor on a different account (now my if-I-ever-get-frozen backup, once I realized I wasn't supposed to have two) and it worked.

I also have a 2% discount, because I couldn't sign up with some of the other discount card sponsors or something. Darn. I wish I had more, but 2% has certainly saved me a pretty penny over the years.
