Ugh, Revolution made sense; it was revolutionising how we play. Wii doesn't mean anything, at the very least not to Mr. Average Joe-Gamer. (It might mean something but I sure don't know what) |

There's been skepticism, apparently Nintendo has not trademarked the name and also hasn't created 'wii.nintendo.com' yet.

Simple names are always better, though Revolution was just plain catchy.
