*cries* Just like every other Zelda game, Twilight Princess is going to be delayed. As some might know, Ocarina of Time was delayed a full year =/ On the plus side, at least it's not being rushed out the door like a certain sequel to a certain XBOX game.

Nintendo this morning announced that they have delayed the much anticipated GameCube title, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, until after the current fiscal year, which ends March 31 of next year.

Yes, you read correctly. Twilight Princess will not be in stores until April 2006, at least.

"After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess," said Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan. "Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year (March 31).
We'll provide a specific date at a later point in time. While this may come as a disappointment to many eager fans, it will absolutely enrich the game and make it a multi-million seller."

This leaves Nintendo without a big holiday title, as Twilight Princess was going to be the game to go up against the PlayStation 2 lineup and the launch of the Xbox 360. Nintendo now has to rely on Pokemon XD and perhaps smaller games such as Super Mario Strikers, Mario Party 7, Odama, Fire Emblem, and Batallion Wars to compete this holiday season.

We'll bring you any new information as it's released.

And the DS is getting a price drop from $150 to $130 US just before Nintendogs hits. This was rumoured a few days ago, and now it's official. Makes me wonder how that guy gets his info because he predicted the XBOX price drop too O_o

Game Boy Micro will be released on September 19th. For those who don't know, GB Micro is a version of the GBA. It's 2/3 of the weight of an iPod and almost the same size. It only plays GBA games, not GB and GBC. It has the brightest screen of any GBA. It also has removable faceplates (like a cell phone).
Whoever saw this coming raise your hand. *raises hand* It was really to be predicted actually. I guess a good thing is they are delaying it so it is better, so it might be worth it, might being the key word here. And in a way the DS price drop was predictable, they don't have a huge sellection of great games out yet for the DS, despite how long it's been out.

And GB Micro? My DS is good enough, any brighter of a screen and I might go blind...
I know it's a good thing, but just a let down. I actually thought it would be delayed, but my hopes were rising >_>;; Well, if it's a better game, it'll be worth the extra long wait. At least now I have some added money.... I swear Microsoft did this ;_; FFXII delayed 'til next year, Zelda: TP delayed 'til next year, XBOX 360 dominating this winter... The DS is the only system with killer apps this holiday season. Mario Kart + Animal Crossing is going to consume my life.
It's for the best. If seven more months is the price of excellent gameplay, then so be it. I'm not whining.

Until then, Rakion beta servers restart tomorrow, and my birthday is lurking on the horizon, so I'm assuming I'll have plenty to keep me busy.
It's really no big deal to me. There are dozens of other awesome GC/DS games coming out this fall; this just means I have $50 more to spend on them :P
It's bittersweet =P I want my Zelda, but I want it to be the best... Ah well, delays are for the best usually (and especially in the case of Zelda). Won't be the first time =/ OoT was delayed, WW was delayed, now TP is delayed. Wasn't a Zelda fan in the 2D days, so I don't know about those...

This was hilarious though:

The sad part is, there are a lot of gamers who buy stuff like that. :P
