Rules for Contests.

1. All contests (including games and tournaments) are to be posted in the Competitive Contest forum (this does not include DON or those Battledome related events such as Wars that IDB staff place in the War Room).

2. Users may start unofficial contests in the Contest forum. Forum staff may remove contests that are deemed to be inappropriate. Unofficial contests do not give out out official trophies.

3. Official contests are those that have been approved in advance by a Super Moderator or Mike. Please PM with your contest idea and details. If approved, an Official Contest will give out a trophy. (if a suitable one is provided)

4. Approved contests must indicate in the initial post who approved the contest. A staff member may approve a contest but may defer its start so that there are not too many contests being run at one time.

5. Whoever approved the contest, may post in one appropriate forum (for example, BD Central for BD related contests) a post listing all contests currently taking entries and a link to the contest.

Official active contests will be pinned in the Contest forum preferably by whoever approved the Contest.

6. Contests are limited to a total of 8 active official contests at one time. Unofficial contests are not limited.

7. Post the rules for your contest in the first post of the game thread. In contests where the number of players is limited, edit in a list of the active players into the first post so that mods will know whose posts do not belong. If possible, post an estimated ending date for the contest (I realize some contests do not lend themselves to this).

8. Neopets Terms and Conditions must be followed at all times by contests involving Neopets.

9. No contest may give out prizes on Neopets such as Neopoints, Neopets items, etc.

Failure to follow rules 8 and 9 may result in expulsion from the forums and reporting to Neopets.

Trophies

Mods running contests usually make their own trophies or beg some kind user to make a trophy.

Forum users running official contests (see above) must supply their own trophies or use an existing one.

If your official contest is to give out trophies, PM Mike or someone who can give trophies a list of the people and trophies you want to give out (You have to make the trophies yourself or get somebody to make them. If you get somebody else to make the trophy picture for you please say thank you to them and announce they made the trophies when the trophies are being awarded)

PM the list in this format :

Name of player receiving the trophy
Image URL (The trophy image shouldn't be bigger than about 100 x 100 pixels)
Title of trophy

EG :

Devil of the year award

Staff reserves the right to reject unsuitable trophies.

Playing Games

1. Be a good sport. Failing to be a good sport can result in banishment from the game and future games. If bad enough, it can result in official warnings or other official items. Overall forum rules apply in this forum.

2. A lot of work is put into all contests by the MC. Don't put down any work done by the MC. If you have complaints, please make them privately.

3. Please follow all rules set for each competition. Failure to do so may result in banning from the contest and possibly others as well.

4. If you are going to sign up for a contest you must be prepared to see it through until the end. It is aggravating as an MC to watch many people sign up and have some people vanish without participating. If the competition requires activity on a daily basis do not sign up if you are going to be away for 48 consecutive hours during the contest. If something unexpected comes up then tell the MC. Do not just stop playing without giving warning.

5. If you decide you want to run your own contest, please do not steal the ideas of others. If you want to run a game similar to one that has been previously run by someone else, ask that person first.

Boing
Mike: Boing will probably not be awarded until further notice.
