Yeah, even on level 11 normal, I died twice before beating him!
I tried evil mode with maxed GDD, I found it not as useful in groups, because I got Velm to mesmerize one opponent and if I used GDD it would wake them up again. DD is better that way I eliminate them one by one quickly. I am trying this on insane mode now.

I agree though to keep the skills at about 11 until you get close to the end and know what enchantments you have.
gdd gets no gud.. even DD at a certain point ups until to 100 and no more... I'm up to hubrid nox and nuting.... not to mention anti dazzle thingie
Really GDD is only good on Normal and Evil! Insane enemies just have too much Hp for it to be useful enough. Best to get Direct Damage and Use that killing one by one.

Edit: Also to the person pointing out the differences between the two. IMO on Insane DD is better then GDD for groups of enemies. GDD just doesnt cut it.

I list the main points of each:
DD:
-Higher Single Target Damage
-Less Casting Delay
-Hits less often
-Good against bosses
-Bad against groups of 4

GDD:
-Lower Single Target Damage
-Higher Group Target Damage
-More Casting Delay
-Bad against bosses
-Good against groups of four
You left out GDD makes mesmurizing completely useless.
Tailia does more GDD , ialmost maxed out multiples targets at level 13 and does up to 107 GDD - around 60 GDD per monster.
Wow, great tips. I was stuck on the four faeries then I lost hope. When I saw this I grew hope again and now i'm going to defeat those faeries.

Level 11 is more than enough. Did you ever upgrade Innate Magic Resistance?

ModCannon - Posts combined. Please don't double post.

After beating Normal mode (yes, I'm slow), here are my suggestions:

Rohane:

11-Damage Increase
11-Critical Attacks
11-Stumming Strikes
11-Innate Magic Resistance
11-Innate Melee Haste
Everything left goes to the points the weapons/armor didn't give you.

Mipsy:

11-Direct Damage (better than GDD :D)
11-Group Haste
11-Innate Melee Defense
11-Innate Casting Haste
Everything left goes to the points the weapons/armor didn't give you, then Damage Shields.

Talinia: (DO NOT follow Yiffysquirrel's No-Talinia Speed Guide)

11-Increased Bow Damage
11-Ranged Attacks
11-Shockwave
11-Innate Magic Resistance
11-Innate Melee Haste
Everything left goes to the points the weapons/armor didn't give you, then Slowing Strike.

I DID NOT choose Multiple Targets, because it can usually only occur once or twice per battle. The other skills will benifit your party more. But, if you wish, replace Slowing Strike with Multiple Targets. It dosen't really matter.

Velm:

11-Group Healing
11-Group Shielding
3-Mesmerization
11-Innate Melee Defense
11-Innate Casting Haste.

Everything left goes to to the points the weapons/armor didn't give you, then Celestial Hammer/Mesmerization.

That's it! :P
You are overtrained... waste of time....

I think 3 levels lower are better
Really great tips. I'm sure it'll help a lot of people!

But I prefer Ranged over Shockwave. Ranged rocks! Ranged is the only effective " stun" against Terask II and no enemy is resistant to it. Shockwave doesn't work against Terask, but ranged is very useful! I think Ranged is much better than Shockwave
:P Why not have both GDD and DD?

You can train your GDD up a tiny bit, and use weapon bonuses to up DD to max. GDD IS useful for finishing off that 12 HP enemy. Plus, the other enemies get hurt a tiny bit, too.

Ranged, in my opinion, is pretty much the same as shockwave. However, ranged would be more useful if talinia had the battle taunt abiltiy. Keep in mind that teresk will only slow down if he attacks talinia. However, if teresk was sensitive to shockwave, like the majority of enemies, then, shockwave can be activated at nearly any time.

BTW, speaking of ranged/shockwave, my newest weapon increases those skills by 4, but decreases damage and multiple targets by 2. Should I go with it? Is stunning better than damage? It does do 2 more dmg then my previous weapon, and my damage and multiple are pretty high...

And, also, can the recommendation for levels be discounted a bit? I recall battling a lot of the bosses ahead of time.
