SO, I decided to try my hand at making a "tank" (concentration on hp and def over str) pet, and with the upcoming KoTB I figured why not

My problem is I've never really played one before or against many, and wasn't exactly sure how it would work

I had a few set ideas, but they all seemed to have holes

Right now I have

50hp
20str
55def

and am aiming for the 125 boost in def and maybe some hp if I have time

My budget is 15mil, and I'll probably morph to either scorchio, shoyru, or pteri, not sure yet

My first idea was

Faerie Tabard
Mask of Coltzan
Bow of Destiny
Ethereal Sword
Honey Potion
Purple Scorchstone
Scroll of Freezing / Thick Smoke Bomb (depending on if they agree to no freeze
Downsize!

the problem was I kinda like kiln over the mask since they will be blocking a lot of icons too, and kiln still gets a few through ftab, but that leaves me vulnerable to dark

(bod over wor I figured because it is cheaper, and the air with either stacks with eth sword if I want, but bod has fire which is always nice)

What could I change about this set?

Or should I go with gshield and some fire/water dual duties? (greater fire potion? frozen want of crystals?

Also, would a tower shield possibly be more useful to me in that 8th slot then a downsize, not for my main shield, but for whipping out occasionally when they have very spread out constants or for the people on lower budgets?

You need as many dual duties as you can get. The Bow is not really a tank weapon.

Now i don't know how much HP you plan on getting but Everlasting Crystal Apple is a good option, multiple healing is good for a tank because you need to be able to kill a persons attack and stand there and take it. if you have a little trouble taking hits, sometimes blocking and healing while gnawing away at them is good. it also depends on how much damage your opponent deals.

Someone also suggested I go back to zafara which I kind of liked, but the set felt like it had more holes then the ftab one...

Although I'm not sure of the usefulness of ppot since my internet is kinda slow so I won't always click first and they will have the same boost as me. I used to have kcloak + smh and it was kinda fun vs lower str boost pets since it blocked everything


Also, if I went ftab I figure I'd be better to go pteri?

RoTL is a huge chunk of my budget...

Also, ECA is not really allowed in 2p and is pretty frowned upon

And also, MoC + pkiln is a nice amount of fire, plus MoC blocks earth which is nice, and khat has mass light which would be decent vs other tanks, and I'd usually not do MoC + Khat cept vs dual SoSes or something silly
