my pet has 73 hitpoints, 33 strength, and 17 defence. any help would be really appreciated. i would also like to have a reliable freezer in my set, although i am not sure what to get.

You should probably work on your strength and defense training, but a decent set for 13 mil:
Freezing Potion
Honey potion
Prickly potion * 2
Ylana's blaster * 2
downsize!
greater healing scroll
That should have you covered in the short term. You might want to consider a winged scarab or a purple sticky hand to alternate in. In the long run you probably want to save up for a SoS

thanks for the input. but i dont really understand how to use pricky potions.

13 icons will do about 20 damage with 35 strength (ylanas blaster)
6icons of ppot will do about 27 damage if your opponent has more than 200hp, so when fighting oppoennts with 125+str, it's worth it to use a prickly potion instead of a ylana's blaster. If your oppoennt has 700 str, you can end up doing 90 damage with each ppot,
