Graphite pointed this out last night, and we promptly spent all of our mesos on ilbis (and a set of steelys as well, in my case). There is now a 500 NX item in the Cash Shop that gives 1mil... meaning some serious inflation is about to hit.
I shall steal a bit of credit for pointing out to graph that the bags had been released

People generally sell NX now... the going rate is about 2 mil for 1K nx. How much inflation will that really be? o_O
Yeah, I don't imagine it'll be too bad, you can 'buy mesos with nx' indirectly by getting gach items and selling them anyways.
There's a big difference. Gach mesos come from other players. These mesos are coming out of thin air. More currency in circulation = 1 mil buys less than it used to.
not really, selling gach stuff is using mesos ALREADY in the economy, this actually creates mesos from THIN AIR, therefore flooding the market with NEW mesos, not circulating old mesos around the economy..
(EDIT: LOL posted at the same time with the same answer spaz

)
Okay, on it... Thanks for the notice.
Thanks for the heads-up, I'm buying 3 ilbis and 1 steely to convert most of my pure into items. There doesn't seem to be a mass panic yet, but once the masses realize, ilbis and steelies prices will rise.
I realize that, I still don't think it'll make a big difference, it's not like 'mesos coming out of thin air' is a new concept, people can do this by just grinding more... like if some of the level 200 players were like 'hey, let's keep grinding to flood the economy with new mesos lolol' (unlikely, but that would be hilarious) - are we really gonna get masses of people turning their real money into mesos? If anything, the overreaction and hoarding is gonna cause the inflation. Keep in mind they're only being sold for two weeks..

As part of "an experiment." Meaning that they're seeing how this goes before really deciding whether they'll stay or not. And since they'll make profit off of them, like they did with 2x cards, they'll stay, and eventually more will be added.
Another way to look at this: the money they are spending on Mesos is money that they would ordinarily spend on Gachapon items. For a while, less of those will be coming into circulation.
