It’s been a long time since I asked this question…
HP: 210
STR: 125 boost (133)
DEF 35 boost (50)
Budget: 10 million NP (in pure)

Set:
Downsize!
Greater Healing Scroll
Ylanas Blaster
Ylanas Blaster
Black Frost Cannon
Leaf Shield
Honey Potion
Mostly 1-p

Spare Weapons:
Fungus Ray x2

I’m leaning towards an SoS, but can’t make up my mind if the freezer is ok.
That's about the time I started saving for an SoS, but I remember getting advice at the time (including from sirhatter) telling me that a 100% freezer was more important. I don't think there's an obvious answer here, you'll have to get all of these things eventually:

100% freezer
Ghostkerbomb
Ghostkershield
50% healer
Start buying hidden tower weapons (SoS, PCC, Werelupe Claw Necklace)

I always chose the bigger constants, (cause I like pounding on things in 1-player). If you want to play 2-player, you're going to get trounced without a freezer. I guess I just repeated the question, cause I don't have an answer here.

Here's what I did:
Upgraded my Wand of Reality to SoS
Bought a Freezing Potion (no sense in getting the bomb first without the freezer)
Upgraded the SoS to PCC
Upgraded the Bow of Destiny to SOS
Bought a Ghostkershield (because I was paranoid that it might retire)
Saving now for the bomb.

*pokes everybody else* these are the standard weapons that everyone eventually wants, what's the best order to get them in?
I think you've got two problems that you need to address before thinking of blowing a budget on the SoS. First, you've outgrown your healer and you're probably helping your opponent about as much as yourself when you use it. And, as you've mentioned, your freezer is a bit "iffy" and unless you're into starting, stopping and restarting battles all the time, it's a problem. The Y-Blasters are excellent, cost effective items, though I don't really like dual items in general. I'm not sure why you have the Fungus Rays, which are a lot of nps without a natural role in your set.

Also, using your Leaf Shield isn't of much help to you and plays to your weakness as you haven't kept you defense up with your offensive boosts. That's another slot that's sub-par at the moment. The Honey Potion is o.k., but it's not a huge step up from your Y-Blasters and with an "iffy" freezer, it's not a real impact item. And Downsize!, while useful, is really a situational item.

In other words, you have a start, but your set doesn't really maximize your pet's stats, nor give you the best chances for winning.

For my two cents, I think healer is the most important spot, but early on a 100% freezer can help you as much or more in the short run. Over the longer term, the healer rules though. The G-Bomb is great, but I think it should come after you have a dominant multi-use weapon in your #1 attack spot (again, if you're in this for the long-term). The G-Shield isn't of the same priority to me as the healer, freezer, #1 attacker or G-Bomb.
Thanks for the comments. I bought SoS, but since it's pretty ETS I'm quite sure I can get back the NP within a day. maybe I should get a P-kiln to replace y-blaster?
If you ever decide to change your mind, feel free to.

I was never a fan of SoS. I preferred PCC, however, I know it's probably not within your budget.

If I were you, I'd focus on a 100% freezer first. What's teh current freeze rate of BFC? You might also consider Slumberry Potion...it's an option.

About the Kiln...since the Y-Blaster is more likely to inflate quicker than the Kiln, I'm not too sure. But since it's an HT item, you can, like the SoS, sell it to gain the NP back easily. Icon-wise, it deals more, you'd only be highly vulnerable to a fire reflector.
I don't really see the P-Kiln as a particularly helpful in that you're spending a lot more nps for a lesser, though more concentrated attack. If you now have a SoS, and dual Y-Blaster's you've got decent firepower and your opponent will have to pick which combo to try and stop, but won't have a sure answer for all posibilities. The Y-Blaster is much more likely to be partially blocked, but much less likely to be totally blocked, and unlike the P-Kiln, it doesn't invite a fire reflector.

I'd also advise against a Slumberberry Potion as it's not a definate 100% freezer, which is what you need, and you don't have a sufficient number of maximum hit points to risk its NOT freezing for a round or two or three.
If I sell my SoS I have about 12.5m pure to work with. I have a couple of items worth a lot but they're far too HTS so don't suggest a bigger budget than 15m.
I'm not a fan of PCC, because it's more expensive and it doesn't do much more for 5m, and I battle 1p, not 2p.
So fresh ideas anyone? Smile
