Species: Kacheek
Level: 23
Health: 42
Strength: 43
Defense: 45 (it went up about 2-3 extra times when training)

Current set:
Golden Compass
Pike Pike
Scarab Ring
Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Snowglobe Staff
Honey Potion
Kacheek Life Potion

Budget Constraints:
At this point, I have about 700k, but I'm saving up for whatever expensive things I may want (right now I'm thinking H4000 helmet)

"Daily" Income: When I get on, I usually make around 10k from about 5 different games (not 5 plays, 3 plays of each of the 5), excluding any stocks I may decide to sell.

BD Participation: For the most part, I stay in 1 player, and usually enjoy any wars/plots involving the battledome (except the ice caves one with the disease weapons Sad)

Training Methods: Until I can't, I will be training with dubloons because simply put, it's over (I think) two times as expensive to buy two codestones than one five dubloon coin.

Other Information: Currently I have a dark faerie and water faerie sitting in my SDB in order to get sink and healing vapour. I believe all of my good weapons are on this pet. I do intend on getting to the next defense and attack boosts, but am still attempting to accumulate NP at the same time. Will probably be easier to train in the summer
I appreciate that you're saving up for expensive things like a 100% freezer, but at this point, I'd make a run on a Ylanas Blaster. Because it's fairly new and a ton of them hit the market at once, its price is FAR, FAR below what its battle value is. You get roughly 12 1/2 icons of attack for less than a third the price of a 13 iconer. I realize that you have other needs, but as time goes by, the Y-Blaster is a fair bet to increase in price and at worse, I think you'll be able to sell it for what you pay for it now if and when you need to in order to make one of the expensive purchases of your future. To me, it's certainly a better item in your set than the Pike Pike. But by all means DO keep training.
Right now, your healer only heals 28 hp, at the most. I'ts great when you have 100+ hp, but right now, Greater Healing Scroll is a much better option. Just stash the Potion in your SDB untill it's worth using Wink

Training defence for one player is a bit questionable, usually the only thing you have to worry about is either smashing your opponent silly, or using a reflector/full blocker. I would train it to 55, then stop and just concentrate on strength and hp.

Get a ylanas blaster, for all the reasons Vermont Hermit gave =) Replace pike pike

Sell your Honey potion. It only averages a couple extra icons over the blaster, is once per battle, and is about 100k more expensive.

Get a Prickly potion, but only use it if your opponent has high hp (that means a higher strength boost). Ask if your not sure how they work.

So after you've done all that you should have:

Ylanas Blaster
Golden Compass
Prickly potion
Scarab Ring
Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Snowglobe Staff
Greater Healing Scroll

With your leftover np, train. A lot.
Get a Ylanas Blaster. It is cheap enough at this point, and it's more powerful than any weapon currently in your set.

Get a Prickly Potion if you fight much stronger opponents, but otherwise just stick to what you have. A Prickly Potion only does 6 icons, so your opponent would have to be MUCH stronger than you are to make this weapon worthwhile.

Put your Pike Pike away because it's not that useful aymore. However, due to the mass light and water, it might come in handy someday, so don't sell it yet.

Put your Kacheek Life Potion away for now because your HP needs to be at least 80 for this to be worthwhile.

Leave the H4000 Helmet for much, MUCH later because you don't need a 100% freezer yet...

Does the potion just reflect icons? I see defense icons listed as its offense.

The potion deals 6 icons, but uses your opponents strength boost. Right now, you deal 1.5 damage per icon that your weapons do; at the 125 boost an enemy will deal 3 damage per icon that the do. So you using the prickly potion with an opponent at your str boost makes it a 6 iconer. Using at against a 125 boost enemy makes it, essentially a 12 iconer.

just remember this for the ppot:

((opponents multiplier here) x 6) / (your multiplier here) = "actual icons" of the ppot.

If the actual icons are higher than the strongest attack weapon in your set, you'll most likely want to use it. If not, stick to your regular weapons.

Also, a note on H4k: at your level in one player, it really isn't all that useful. If you're using ppots like you should, you'll be able to get your opponent to 300-400 HP, depending on their weapons maybe even higher. At that point, a freeze round (where ppots don't work like normal) will not do much at all to take down your opponents HP. Save the H4k for a higher boost, or when you have stronger weapons.
k, so this is what I've done so far:
Bought Ylanas blaster and equipped it
Removed Pike Pike and put it in SDB
Bought Greater Healing Scroll and equipped it
Removed Kacheek Life potion and put it in SDB

Put Honey Potion up for sale for about 800k or another ylana's blaster with extra np (or prickly potion with about 400k)

so now I'm pretty much broke :/

Also, I just remembered something. On the reflected icons, does it reflect regardless of what the opponent throws at you? Does it decrease icons taken if those types (physical and fire) are dealt?
Only keep the pike pike if you plan to do any 2 player. Even then, it's not too great - Golden compass fares much better. I would sell it.

No, prickly potion it does 6 icons all the time, no defence

I don't think you should be too broke... didn't you say you did stocks?
fine, maybe I should have been more specific. That was in terms of liquid assets (also known as loose neopoints that are easily accessible in the bank).

I'm not exactly broke anymore now that I sold my honey potion to jared_07.

Also, a quick comment on prickly potion. How likely do you think it is that I'll have to fight something over twice my boost? The Prickly Potion actually ends up doing less than Ylanas Blaster unless the opponent's boost is over 2x mine (if you include the fractional). In this case, would it be better for me to get another blaster or a prickly potion?

If you stay in 1P, then fairly frequently, especially given your low current boost. To be honest though, 2 each of both Blaster and Potion is what I'd work towards.

Given your low boost right now, you're likely to be fighting stronger opponents, but I doubt that you would fight REALLY strong opponents. If you fight them, it's unlikely that you would be able to win with Prickly Potions. Having 1 Prickly Potion is useful, having 2 is a waste of a weapon slot.
