Throughout the years that I have known you, you have always
had my best interest at heart.
You always wanted to shield me from all the evils in the world.
You knew me better than most and you understood my heart.
You did your best to guide me in life and for that I am thankful.
You shared with me all of your experiences both bad and good.
As I was growing up you still saw me as that little boy that needed
your undying love.
In your eyes, I was always the baby or at least your little one.
But then you became gravely ill and I had to be the man that you
see before you.
What you once did for me I now do for you. I am your shoulder to lean on. I am the one to keep you strong.
I have leared how to be nurturing as you have nurtured me.
As each day goes by, you become weaker and more frail.
It breaks my heart to know that one day soon that I will
no longer be able to see your loving eyes, your warm sweet smile.
I will however have memories of you that will keep in my mind.
I just wonder if I can continue to be strong.
I know that your time is near it's end and I will celebrate the life
that you have lived, and I will always have a part of you in me.
I do know for a certain fact that you will be always watching over me.
And for that I will always know that I am never alone.
