I'm thinking of getting rid of my JBR in the first weapon slot... What do you guys recommend to replace it??
There's not really much in the way of a direct replacement. Assuming you go down the G-Shield route rather than the RotL route, you'll just be losing that Light defense if the Ring gets stolen (and keep in mind that your opponent will be losing net icons in the short-term to make that steal).

How many opponents are you running into right now that are running G-Shield/RotL? From an offensive standpoint, the JBR already has a more niche use.

I don't think you're really losing anything by running it, though it's arguably weaker than something else you could have in its slot.
By getting rid of your Jhudorah's Bewitched Ring in the first slot and relative to the title of this board I assume you're asking that what should replace the capabilities of the weapon in the event it is stolen?

Reason being that you cannot unequip the Ring, if it ends up in your first slot due to the movement of your other weapons then that's where it will set up permanent residence, unless the Pound decides to reopen yet I'm not up-to-date on the rules of pounding pets with stuff still attached (I only remember the times when you could pound a pet and still leave everything on it to which whoever adopts the pet will get the Pet, petpet, and weps equipped - I heard it changed though).

Apart from PCC and Glittery Faerie Dust, there isn't that much in your way of light being commonly used against you. If you do in fact face an FSS, though compared to the other two mentioned this will be relatively 'less common', then the light defense of the Ring will help 1/3. Offensively, the Ring is terrible due to the central dark icons and the variable physical which doesn't help much.

For the most part, the Ring will be purely a defensive weapon in 2P - in 1P it changes to a seemingly good-not-great weapon due to 1P Opps not packing much full on dark defense.

Depending on your DEF boost you could opt for Gshield or RoTL to cover up the other holes in your defense. On paper, RoTL + JBR is nice but in actual combat the dual fails offensively when matched against a Gshield.
Right, scrap that, would have to be a steeling item that takes at random too. I'll get back to it.
True. That would have been a practical option over four years ago. Erasers are hard to come by and the price tag on one alone is well in the 9-digit region.

If you could afford to buy an Eraser just for that purpose, I'd have to completely re-evaluate set suggestions to you.
Is the ring unstealable?

How is your opponent going to steal the eraser if the ring is in front of it?
Tornado Ring. Very-very low chance of stealing but it steals multiples. The downside would trial and error and getting it so that the Eraser is stolen and the Ring is in it's intended spot. There's also equipping the Ring-owner's pet with a steal item and figuring out some way to steal back the Ring if it gets stolen with the Eraser (and manages to get into first slot) and where the rule on double stealing kicks in.

That would take the better part of your week to pull off considering the odds are severely against you.

I don't remember if the T-Ring steals randomly, goes in order, and if in terms of multi-steal it only steals one at a time or takes more than 1 weapon at a time. That's one too look up.
the tring steals in order, and can only steal on item at a time. So I guess it's possible, to steal the ring, then eraser.

It seems this dilemna might be solvable...but expensive...
A has tring, B has bewitched ring, eraser, Tring, air/physical shield.

So A keeps using tring vs shield until ring and eraser are stolen. Then B uses tring to steal back a second tring and the bewitched ring. Then A steals all items except the bewitched ring. A uses eraser and bewitched ring is gone. Quite expensive, time consuming and difficult Toungue
so, Three Trings, full air blocker, and an eraser...

right, looks like the pound transfer option has arrived just in time
Only two Tornado Rings actually.

As far the pound option goes, the outcome will be the same in that the Ring will get deleted...that or the pound prevents you from abandoning.

Either way, once you've equipped the Ring there's no turning back.
A = Tring
B = Bring, Eraser, Tring, Shield

a steels bring, eraser

A = Tring, Bring, Eraser
B = Tring, Shield

B steels ting, Bring

A = Eraser
b = tring, shield, tring, bring

If you want A to steel, it needs a steeling item...

so it doesn't quite work.
