I just finished up my part in the LW League Open (got 1 win, and the reason was because of a bye). I'm at League 6, but I've been fighting people that have weapons that cost more than my entire set.

I play the stocks, and I restock my own way (since I'm not the type of person that follows the crowd). I also play games occasionally. I only make a few thousand a day, unless I get lucky.

I don't really want to be like everyone else, but I may have to just to stay competitive. I also don't want to become a stereotype BDer, since that's not me.

I'm just not sure what to do.
hmmm huh?
So you're asking....how to make more np?

I'm not sure how to answer. I make np almost exactly to the way you do. I spend all my np on stocks, don't restock much but play games occasionally. I used to restock a lot but then I got bored of refreshing and never getting good items.
Unfortunately people stop training and stick around in the lower leagues, but it's always been like that.

You see a lot of SoS/PCC/GShield/FTab in 6? It seems by 9-10 your net worth has to be 50+ to be really competitive.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You took on an λrumα§ big gun, then ran into one of my guildmates, no shame in losing there. And nates' point with regard to rich people hanging out in lower leagues holds true here.

I'm not sure what you're actually asking, but there's no reason why a BDer can't become competitive on games alone.

Horrifyingly enough, in major tournaments such as this, you're more likely to run into big sets at the lower levels than the higher ones. Heck, it's not rare to see <20 sets in the L9-12 range, far more common than in the lower leagues at least. Very often intermediate battlers are those who prioritized training over upgrading.

I do restock, but not like everyone else. I jump in a shop at random times and grab whatever's there. I might do it the more traditional way on Half Price Day.

Never knew that. I've been on neopets for 5 years (adding in the time I took a year long break), and I never knew that. Of course, this is the first account where I was able to play at home, so I have more time to actually make neopoints and get into a higher league
I have a similar problem as you my friend. About the only way I've found is to keep training and get your jollies from the wars with your higher boost pet Toungue
I have about 5mil until I went crazy buying Ylanas Blasters. I don't really make many neopoints nowadays. I don't play games, occasionally do stock market, and restock in a few shops. Turns out I don't restock in too many shops so not many UB's come to me, but to me I was just in endless torment: first I wanted 1mil, then 10 mil, and then 50 mil, which I don't think I'll get for a long long time. I'll just have to face it that I don't put in that much time/effort to get that dream set.
