It's a thing called hoarding. Hoarders usually stick together to collect all of the same items, which would then limit supply, in hopes if hiking up the prices later. Some people call this false inflation. Others call this a very well thought out strategy...either way you look at it, hoarders pick their favourite items and hike up the prices in hopes of making more profit.
Hoarders like Cranberry had mentioned in a previous post, have the patience it would take to see their investments really pay off. It's like the phrase goes, "The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer."

Or it could be said that those who are smart get rewarded for their patience. I truly doubt that there's a conspiracy of hoarders out to get the less-foresighted neopians. Ylanas Blaster has disrupted the BD economy in the short term, but I think we'll see it hit 1.8-2 mill by xmas no problem, and holding on to it is a no-brainer.....

Sorry you misunderstood what I was trying to say...I never had any intentions of saying there is a consipiracy about it. First of all I have known Cranberry for a long time...I would never disrespect her. I was trying to actually only pointing out a post made by her. I would have been more than willing to clarify anything that was misunderstood if given the chance.

Besides, there's very rarely spoken conspiracies when it comes to hoarding. Moreso, I'd imagine it's simply the "unspoken rules" of hoarding, and the fact that all the hoarders have identical goals and thus should act identically.

well, I think I'm going to try to sell my goo blaster while it's still at 1.2 I acquired from auction for just slightly more then that.
Then Lurk the TP and buy a 2nd y blaster when one goes cheep.
3.7 is way high for BoD and WoR, they both seem to be around 2.8-3.4 or so, with BoD grinding the lower ends of the scale. More would sell in that range if people would just do high increment auctions, no reason to bid 3.1 on one of them if someone can come along and do 3.2 in the last 30 seconds.
I'm picking up a WOR soon, the icons are to good to pass up for the price now.
