Would anyone mind posting a list which includes all the icons from the most common to the least common?

It really depends on whether you're talking about 1-player or 2-player -- and if you're talking 2-player, then which level. Low to mid-level battlers will face different "common" icons than high-level battlers will (in high-level battling you'll see a lot more air, for example, while it's rarer in lower levels).
Um. I'm more interested in 1 player but if you could provide a list for both 1p and 2p, that would be awesome.
lowish-mid. Definitely not high.
I don't think anyone's actually mapped out icon commonality in One Player (I certainly haven't, and I'm pretty sure I'd be the most likely to do so).
Physical should be by far the most "common," but mostly in the sense that it's almost always attached in random quantities onto other weapons.

Earth and light are fairly common in lower levels, I think, due to stuff like Honey Potion, Scuzzys Comb and Golden Compass. Air is uncommon in lower levels, but more common in higher ones where people use Pirate Captains Cutlass and Ghostkersword. I'm not sure where dark and water fit in for the lower levels, exactly.
I'd guess that physical is the most common type of attack, as most one-player challengers attack with it, and it's the most common icon to be the variable part of any attack weapon. The arguement against the Faerie Tabard and the like has long centered on the lack of strong water weapons. The Battle Ducks in the mid-range do use water, as do things like the Goo Blaster, but in general I'd think water is probably the least used attacker in terms of total icons thrown out. I'd tend to guess (again, no formal study of this), that earth is probably the second most common icon in the area you're talking about, with light being next in line. After that it becomes a bit too close to call without numerical study.
