Am I the only one who is actually in favor of the one-month rule? It seems to me the purpose is to prevent someone from getting into your account and stealing all four of your pets at once. Another good effect (although this probably wasn't on TNT's mind when they made the rule) is that it prevents people from borrowing a much better pet for a 1-player tournament and returning it before scores are counted at the end.
I also think it is a good idea TOSO, but I know some people who wanted to transfer pets to spares, so it is an annoyance atm. Toungue I am also annoyed by the fact I can't transfer a pet out after having it transferred to me to paint it for a friend. But overall, I think that is a good idea as well.

It is annoying that Lutaris can't be transferred..they are neopets too!!

I also do think it is unfair so many pets in the pound were frozen. I feel bad for the original owners who wanted them back. Sad
People at another Neo forum I visit are thinking that maybe those freezings are temporary -- the pound's been down for a year, so it was undoubtedly overloaded with pets. It could be that TNT's holding those pets to put back in later, once the place has been cleared out a bit. I guess we'll see!
has anyone tested if jhudoras bewitched ring can be safely removed?

the faq says bd items don't go with the pet, but Im not sure if there's exceptions

and of course you should always wait before buying one in case they change that

I'm in favor of it, too. However, morons that get into accounts are probably just as willing to throw a Pet up for adoption as steal it (and besides, the stealing is traceable).

Wait, how does it prevent people from borrowing Pets for tournaments? It sounds like it makes it easier.
Can anyone confirm the cost of accepting a transfer?

I've also heard a rumour that transfering resets fishing skill to 1, can anyone confirm or deny that?
I can confirm both -- my friend transfered her high-fishing-skill buzz to her side and his fishing skill is now at 0, and you have to pay the adoption fee when you take a pet through regular adoption or a transfer. That fee varies based on the pet's stats (or whatever) -- basically, whatever it would cost to adopt in the normal pound, it'll cost the same to transfer.
I pet I accepted today had these stats:
Hit Points: 16 / 83
Strength: EXCELLENT (43)
Defence: GREAT (36)
Level : 10

It cost me just over 1k to transfer into my account.

The PIN should still be sufficient to prevent pets from being stolen even if they get into your account. I think they main purpose of the one month rule is still the same as it used to be, preventing pets from being sold. But since so many people kept nagging about it, it was only a matter of time before they had to give in. With the one month rule, they're retaining a bit of control, as in people won't be able to make gazillions right away. Plus it gives them more time to sort things out in case of pet ownership disputes.
Not just pets being sold, but clothes. A person could zap a pet and get a ton of nice paintbrush clothes for a certain species, then create a brand new pet of that species, dress it up in the PB clothes, and "sell" those fancy clothes to someone else using the transfer option. The one-month rule won't stop that from happening entirely, but it makes it much easier for TNT to monitor.
Argh...so yeah two of the pets that I had pounded nearly two years ago were deleted since their stats were quite high. I seriously wished that I could have been able to transfer them to a side account. Waiting
