You know what "jokes" are, right? Just checking.

Quote:while they may or may not have lied about the pound being fixed is actually still up in the air.

It's up in the air? Do you really think they're going to post tomorrow and be like, "Hah, gotcha! We totally lied about the pound -- it's never coming back, suckers!" I have to disagree there -- maybe it'll take them a bit of extra time to work out the bugs, but the pound's coming back. We could wager on it if you like, though. Wink

Quote:And as fair as getting hopes up high and then crushing it...they have done that before with many things (too many to bother to list).

Name ten. That's not too many to list. I'll even give you the first one: Neoschools. Nine more... go!

Quote:I mean if you think about it they could consider themselves like gods on neopets.

I suppose they could. Do I think they do? Um, no. I should hope that most of Neo's employees have better things to do than sit around plotting against the members of their web site and congratulating themselves on how much power they have ON THE INTERNETS!!!1!! We're talking about a large number of people in a professional, probably relatively boring office, dude -- people with bosses and lawyers and CEOs to answer to. They want to get the pound up so the userbase will be happy and play more and make them more money. That's it.
Ya know, Cran, I remember you taking the exact same stance back in Rainer's thread about this. Toungue Then again, I loved CoM, does that make me a TNT stooge? Ohmy

I may not have 10, but here are two that pop into my mind:
- TNT said in the editorial they would try to do something about inflation (weapons, codestones), but I have yet to see anything to that effect. Most of us were expecting codestones to be given out in the advent calendar, but nada.
- TNT said in another editorial they would try and reward older accounts by giving us a slight advantage somewhere (like the times between posting on boards for example), nada.

At the moment those are the only two I can think of that have really bugged me.
Alright first of all I am only speaking for myself and secondly...as I had stated in a previous post, that you can't put it past them to do somethings for fun. Do I really think that they are evil? Nah...they are just the kind that would do somethings here and there out of chaotic fun. I know that the pound will come back, however none of really know when the pound will be up. Yes, there is always the chance that the pound will be back up today and that would be great, but what are they doing with the strong/painted pets? If that is not bothersome (for someone like me that has pounded a couple lab rats with high stats) and others with painted pets.

Someone had to put forth the effort in either training, labbing, or painting the pet before they ended up putting their pet in the pound. Btw this is only my opinion...not some sort of personal vendetta against TNT...if I truly had a problem with them then I wouldn't be playing neopets still now would I? Toungue

Did they specifically reference high-end weapons in that or not? ::.Can't remember.:: I'm suddenly very scared that we saw the result of this in Ylanas Blaster.
4. The original Return of Sloth plot that never happened. The recent one came after such a gap that I doubt it was the same plot at all, and by now, most of their active users probably never even heard of the original plot or knew what it was supposed to be a companion to.

5. The Thieves' Dinner, or whatever that murder puzzle was called.

6. Telling all the victims of the 4/4/04 glitch (which actually started on 4/3/04, go figure) that their items, np, and Neopets would be returned to their accounts.

7. Telling us that Faerieland was going to be the next plot location. So much for that.

8. Taking years to finally say "No, the old style of war will not be coming back."

9. Revamping the site...into something harder to navigate. And then slowly removing the parts of it that were still familiar and aesthetically pleasing. I want my Neopia Central picture navigation strip back.

10. Neoclothes. Which led to losing pet facial expressions for months. And losing the unique poses of some painted pets which looked awesome originally.

10b (In case you didn't like 10). Telling us that paying money would never give you an impossible-to-match advantage over other users.

10c (In case you didn't like 10b). Petpets in the Battledome.

10d (In case you didn't like anything else). Almost every game revamp.

There's 10, at least, Cranberry.

Oh wow those were part of what I had thought myself. I am seriously getting tired of having to see ads everywhere even in the battledome and games. I was fine with the ad banner way up top, but now it's like you can't escape them.
So, the pound...

We were thinking high-end weapons, shattered. I remember it was Pez who asked the question and it was about adding weapons into the HT. The only things in my mind skyrocketing out of control are on par with gsword and slings and up. Medium-level weapons such as y-blaster does nothing.

Oh yah, my personal experience with TNT bringing up my hopes and having them crashing down around me: I had neopoints glitched away in the reset glitch a few months ago where they reset your np on hand to 20k. It only happened to some people, and I was one of them. This glitch occurred in conjunction with the glitched darkest faerie doll auction happening that I had bid on. I left several million on hand when I logged off that night, since the auction was still going. I logged in the next morning to find 20k on hand. I lost around 5 million or so I had kept on hand. The auction being glitched as well, took the 3mil+ I bid and never refunded my bid. Snarkie posted on a board saying I should just keep 20k on hand and everything would be returned to me. This never happened so there went just over 8 million down the drain. What was really infuriating was that the doll was returned to the original owner and reauctioned.

This is a screenie of her post, and me naively thinking she was going to save me (also note that if you had less than 20k on hand, it also eventually got reset to 20k T_T):

And yay pound is up...I am not liking that one month limit atm Dead
Okay, okay, guys... I asked ultrashadowlord for his 10, since he's the one who had "too many to list" -- I do NOT want this to turn into a thread where people rant about how TNT did them wrong. Toungue And I would accept some of those, weee, but a lot of them (like numbers 8, 9 and 10a and 10d, for example), weren't what I consider "getting hopes up high and then crushing [them]," but simply statements or new features that you didn't like. Also, re: your number 4, the RoS plot seems to be almost exactly the same (if you read the old TCG cards they released when the original plot was supposed to happen, the info matches up). Anyway, if all of you want to keep ranting about TNT and how much they suck and how they never do anything good for us, feel free to start a new thread.

Can we talk about the pound now? Several of my friends have reported that they transfered pets without a hitch. The one thing that seems annoying is that if you do a normal adoption instead of a transfer, your pet doesn't come with any clothes, and pets like Usuls and Bruces look dumb without their bows. You also still cannot move Lutari, even with a transfer.
