Nice, good move by TNT. I wish they had this in place years ago, then I could have kept all of my 4 original pets. Now, what about about BD items? Do they stay when you transfer? I'm thinking specifically of Jhudoras Bewitched Ring, it would become more of a viable option if there was a way to get rid of it, in case it ever became totally obsolete.
I think it's pretty obvious why we're getting this new feature. Like every update the site has gotten for several years, it comes with significant advantages for newbies, noobs, ect. by allowing them easy acces to expensive PB clothes, pet colour avatars, ect., making the site easier, and perhaps more popular.
It's not the worst thing they've done that serves the same purpose, so I'm not totally against it, but I think people should reconise that this wasn't just to make us happy, but rather to make more money.
How does it give newbies easier access to PB clothes? If they just pound surf, they're not going to find anything good -- maybe they'll grab a pirate or a royal, but it's gonna be "naked." The only way for a newbie to get a fancy, clothed pet is for someone to transfer it specifically to them. It actually makes it harder for them to grab a fancy pet, because they can't get lucky and interrupt someone else's transfer. They're at the mercy of older, richer players who will deign to send them a pet.
I don't really get the reasoning behind taking off even default clothing. I suppose it was probably just easier to program, but...I mean, why take off the clothes on the pet at all? If the owner wants to keep the clothes, they can take them themselves. It'd be hard to 'forget', seeing as you have to stare at your pet for a good half-dozen clicks while abandoning it.
I suppose it has to do with making sure people can't have a pet that looks painted without buying the paintbrush themselves, but there's never been a problem before about not letting people adopt painted pets. Then again...how long has the pound been gone?
I'd say JBR is now viable, G-Shield be damned. About time a transferring option became available. Chances are I won't ever be using it though.

I think i'm going to hold off a few extra days.... I like the transfer ability but i'm really wondering why this took so long to implement. Although my understanding of coding is poor at best, this just doesn't really seem that difficult in the grand scheme of things.
I expect more than just a couple of glitches and I plan on waiting them out a little bit

Either way could have been programmed, but it's a limitation. We can't transfer Paint Brush clothes. And I'd bet a lot of people would forget to take the clothes off (that sounded awkward). The Pound's been down for nearly a year.

It took this long to implement 'cause TNT doesn't bother adding random updates. The Pound probably wasn't touched since its conception, and it's quite possibly been entirely redone from scratch.

I think I'm going to start transferring all my other pets to my side, so I can help my battlepet a little more with Faerie Quests, ect.
