A user on the Customise Board made the following post, which is allegedly a quote from one of the programmers on the Charter Board (which I assume is the Premium Board):

There's a screenshot of it somewhere at PPT.
The pound probably has a lot of good painted and/or limited edition pets in there. Though the ratio of Special to Normal pets will probably be the same.
On a side note: I pounded a Tonu. His/Her (I forgot) name is Lambs_and_chops

lol. I actually got that "Lambs_and_chops" off the pound. Kept it for almost half a year and decided that I didn't really want it.
*sigh* I had to pound 3 pets over the years of playing neopets...2 of which were lab rats and one who was adopted and nicely trained. It's interesting that I had 4 rather well trained pets and even though I had labbed all four of my pets during the years...I had also trained them using mystery island.
Well turns out the pound will be open by Monday!, or is it open today. Either way, better go look for your missing pets

FAQs for the new pound, which will have two different options:
Pound -- Same as before; you stick your pet in there and anyone can take it. Its petpet goes with it. Clothes (even default clothes like a Bruce's bowtie) and BD items do not.
Transfer -- You can transfer one pet per month to a specific user (you type in their username, just like you would if sending an item). The pet's buyable and/or paintbrush (but NOT NC Mall) clothes and petpet go with it. You can also receive one pet per month.
I think this is perfect. I love that we have the ability to safely transfer,
finally.
That is a rather neat feature because we can easily transfer pets to side accounts, also now i can start looking for pets with Sneezles to get Meuka!
